Using this Ikelite Updated Underwater Housing with TTL Circuitry and Leica D-LUX (Typ 109) Camera Kit from B&H, you can capture images of coral reefs, pygmy seahorses, and other aquatic wonders at depths as great as 200'. Providing everything you need for a photo or video adventure beneath the surface, the kit bundles the durable waterproof enclosure with the advanced, 12.8MP, 4K point-and-shoot digital camera. The housing affords access to virtually all the functions of the D-LUX (Typ 109), and features a built-in, flat glass port for the camera's Leica DC Vario-Summilux 24-75mm f/1.7-2.8 lens. Add an external, waterproof strobe or video light to your system to ensure sufficient illumination and color accuracy on cloudy days, and when diving beyond 20' or so on clear, sunny days.

  • Ikelite Underwater Housing with TTL Circuitry for Panasonic LUMIX LX100 or Leica D-Lux Typ 109 (Updated Version, White)

Capture photos and video as far as 200' beneath the surface with your Panasonic LUMIX LX100 or Leica D-Lux Typ 109 digital camera, thanks to this updated version of the dedicated Ikelite Underwater Housing. The large, ergonomic mechanical controls provide access to all camera functions except for the flash and viewfinder switches. This version adds an ergonomic, side-mounted shutter lever, and offers improved zoom and rear dial control. Two 1/4"-20 mounts have also been added on the bottom for connection to a tray.

Additionally, while the rear plate is clear, the front, top, and sides of the housing are now made of a white ABS/polycarbonate blend, which is still corrosion-resistant but also reflects sunlight to keep your camera cooler when shooting at or above the water's surface. The housing features built-in, proprietary TTL circuitry and an Ikelite 5-pin bulkhead connector, which combine to allow for TTL exposure with optional, external Ikelite DS Substrobes. Non-Ikelite strobes are compatible in manual mode.

An integrated flat glass lens port with a 3.9" diameter accepts optional, external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses to enhance your view. You can also add optional color-correction filters to restore hues that get absorbed by the water.

    Waterproofing
    • Features a depth rating of 200'
    • Two double-passivated, stainless steel locking lid snaps are easy to use and virtually unbreakable
    • See O-ring form a solid watertight seal as you close housing
    • Rear seal design prevents accidental twisting or stretching of O-ring, and eliminates need for groove or channel that can trap dirt, sand, or debris
    • Spare 1/2-20 accessory port for installing optional vacuum valve
    Controls and Handling
    • Large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, knurled knobs/dials, and levers, enable smooth operation
    • Access provided to all camera functions except for flash and viewfinder switches
    • Ergonomic, side-mounted shutter lever has been added
    • Improves upon previous version of housing with better zoom and rear dial control
    • Controls placed in similar configuration as they are on camera, allowing for seamless transition based on familiarity and muscle memory that have already been developed
    • Rear controls marked with easily visible, laser-engraved symbols, which won't peel or fade off with time
    • Attaching an optional single or dual-handle tray will afford improved handling and balance, while offering connection points for arms that can hold flash units or video lights
    Construction Details
    • Designed, made by hand, and tested in the USA
    • Top, front, and sides are made from durable, corrosion-resistant, white ABS/polycarbonate blend
    • Reflects sunlight to keep your camera cooler when shooting at or above water's surface
    • Provides greater contrast than totally clear housings, giving you better view of camera, screen, and O-ring seal when looking through clear back plate
    • Front-loading camera installation makes for quick and easy setup
    • Two standard 1/4"-20 mounts added on bottom for connection to optional tray
    Lens Port
    • Integrated flat glass lens port has 3.9" diameter
    • Accepts optional, external, 0.75x WD-4 Wide Angle Dome or 67mm threaded macro conversion lenses, in order to provide increased field of view or better clarity and detail in close-ups, respectively
    • Macro lenses available from Epoque, INON, Subsee, Nauticam, and others, and can be attached using optional press-fit Macro Adapter
    • Both wide-angle and macro lenses will enable you to get closer to your subjects, cutting down on the amount of water between you and them to reduce distortion
    • Use of WD-4 results in no edge distortion or vignetting
    • Add optional color-correction filters to restore colors that get absorbed by water
    • #6441.46 filter available for blue water and #6441.86 available for green water

    • Circuit is powered by strobe, so no replacement of batteries or maintenance is required
    • Exposure compensation in TTL mode is supported using camera's built-in control
    • TTL and manual modes possible with Ikelite DS strobes, including DS50 (above serial number 70000), DS51, DS125 (above serial number 5000), DS160, DS161, and DS200 (above serial number 7163)
    • Third-party strobes operable in manual mode only, but will still benefit from fast recycle times and improved battery life
    • Housing provides direct electrical connection to camera's hot shoe
    • Features Ikelite bulkhead sync cord connector, eliminating need for camera's built-in flash to fire
    • Sync cord attachment is as easy as screwing in a light bulb, and threaded fit prevents accidental detachment during use
    • Bulkhead sync cord connector has been moved to top of housing to keep cords out of the way and reduce strain on ends
    • Various sync cords available, including Ikelite-to-Ikelite TTL Single (#4103.51), Ikelite-to-Ikelite TTL Dual (#4103.52), Sea & Sea/INON-to-Ikelite Non-TTL Single (#4118.1), Sea & Sea/INON-to-Ikelite Non-TTL Dual (#4118.2), Nikonos SB-to-Ikelite Non-TTL Single (#4116.31), and Nikonos SB-to-Ikelite Non-TTL Dual (#4116.32)

  • Leica D-LUX (Typ 109) Digital Camera (Black)

The black Leica D-LUX (Typ 109) Digital Camera is a compact point and shoot camera that is built around a large, 12.8MP 4/3" MOS sensor which allows for greater depth of field control than is possible with smaller-sensor cameras, plus more effective light-gathering ability per pixel. As a result, subjects can be better isolated within the frame and more details are apparent in darker areas of the image with less noise.

The 4/3" 12.8MP sensor provides high-resolution output, and with its bright, optically-stabilized DC Vario-Summilux f/1.7-2.8 lens, as well as an ISO range expandable from 100 to 25600, the D-LUX (Typ 109)'s ability to perform under low-light conditions is further enhanced. Even during sunny days or when shooting with a flash, the effect of the built-in lens's wide apertures is more apparent due to the 17.3 x 13.0mm sensor with regard to depth of field. Either close-up or far-away subjects can be easily separated from their backgrounds that are then rendered with a pleasing blur, making the D-LUX (Typ 109) an excellent choice for subjects ranging from macro, street photography, photojournalism, landscapes, or for whenever a highly-capable compact camera is desired.

For those who wish to capture high-resolution video, the D-LUX (Typ 109) offers NTSC or PAL UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) output at 30p or 24p, which can be saved as easy-to use MP4 files. When lower video resolutions are sufficient, 1080p full HD or standard definition video can be selected instead, and results of any resolution can be played back on the camera's large, sharp 3.0" 921k-dot rear LCD display. During capture, the subject can also be viewed through the camera's 2764k integrated electronic viewfinder.

Stills and video are saved to SD-type cards, up to and including those with SDXC capacities. To help preserve fast performance even while capturing high-resolution still photos or video, high-speed UHS-I SD-type memory cards can be used. While photos and videos can be downloaded from the memory card, Leica has provided additional options for sharing content taken with the D-LUX (Typ 109) even more convenient. Integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n allows for smartphones or tablets with the Leica Image Shuttle app the ability to record pictures even while shooting. The app can also generate a live image from the camera and settings can be controlled though the app as well.

An advancement among point and shoot cameras, the D-LUX (Typ 109) shares the design and quality aspects photographers associate with Leica. The metal housing is sturdy and elegant, with well-placed tactile buttons and dials that further inspire the user's confidence.

    Large 12.8MP 4/3" MOS Sensor
The large area of the 17.3 x 13.0mm sensor contributes to better control of depth of field as well as improved shadow detail over versus smaller-sensor cameras. Details, contrast, and colors are accurately captured too.
Fast f/1.7-2.8 Leica DC Vario-Summilux Lens
The integrated f/1.7-2.8 Leica DC Vario-Summilux Lens maintains excellent light-gathering ability even when fully zoomed, helping to free the user from exposure limitations, even in low light. This 3.1x optical zoom lens provides an angle of view equivalent to a 24-75mm lens on a 35mm film camera and is optically stabilized to help counteract blur caused by user movement.
    Excellent Low-Light Performance
Along with a large sensor and a bright lens at all focal lengths, and ISO range of 100 to 25600 helps to ensure that low-light is not an obstacle to capturing the image. The 12.8MP over and area of 17.3 x 13.0mm sensor and maximum apertures of f/1.7-2.8 can help to minimize noise at all ISO settings.
    UHD 4K Technology
The potential of the camera's large, 12.8MP 4/3" MOS sensor is further exploited by the ability to record UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) video at 30p. MP4 videos can also be recorded in full HD 1080p/60 or standard definition resolutions according to the NTSC or PAL standard.
    High-Resolution Viewing Options
Images and videos can be played back on the camera's large, sharp 3.0" 921k-dot rear LCD display. When it is preferable to use a viewfinder, the camera camera's integrated electronic viewfinder can be used instead.
    Wireless Connectivity
Paring the with a smartphone or tablet is made easy with integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n capability. Devices with the Leica Image Shuttle app can have images sent to them as images are taken with the camera. The app can also be used to show a live image from the camera or to control camera settings.
Multiple Exposure Modes and Tactile Control
Exposure modes include program, aperture-priority, shutter-priority, manual, as well as 22 creative control modes. Exposure set can be quickly set via an aperture ring and shutter speed dial. Placement of these controls directly on the camera body allows for faster reaction to changing lighting conditions while providing constant confirmation of the chosen shutter speed and aperture.
    Durable and Elegant Body
Featuring a black-colored metal body, the D-LUX (Typ 109) is built to last. Buttons and dials are thoughtfully laid out to help ensure that the camera's features always remain a benefit and never and obstacle to the user.
    Included Flash
An integrated hot shoe and included Leica CF D external flash provide supplemental light when wanted while avoiding to drain the camera's battery.
