Tether Tools Master Pro Reviews

Worth the cost, but good to know what you're getting

I just got this today and wanted to share my initial thoughts. I spent a lot of time debating between the smaller traveler size and the 22 x 16, and I’m really glad I chose the larger option. It’s definitely the better way to go. I use a 16 laptop, and having a bit of extra space behind it for my phone and battery charging setup is super convenient. It doesn’t feel bulky at all — it's the perfect in-between size: not too small, not too big. I highly recommend going with this size. It fits into the carrying bag even with all the attachments on. The cord hooks do tend to catch a little when sliding it in, but they pop off easily, so it’s a minor issue. Initially, the table felt a bit wobbly when I had the screws placed toward the top. But once I flipped it so the screws were closer to me, the stability improved a lot — especially once the laptop was centered on the table. A quick heads-up: the jerk stopper clips are different than pictured. They’re now magnetic and attach to the table with adhesive backing instead of clipping on. You screw the cable into a magnetic piece that snaps onto the adhesive clip. I actually like the new magnetic design, though the cable hole could be a little bigger — one of my extension cables is almost too thick to screw in securely. Still, it works well, especially for orange tether cables. Also, note that the foam mat and the original style clips shown in the photos are not included. I was expecting both, but the box contents reflect the newer setup, so it’s good to be aware of that ahead of time. You can buy the foam mat for about 20 bucks on Amazon. The cup holder fits a pint glass or a standard water bottle, but not a thermos, which is a bit of a letdown. It also slides out too easily — a stopper or a magnetic catch would’ve given it a more premium feel, it feels a bit cheap as is. All the accessories are plastic, while the tray and bottom stand connector are metal. I appreciate the variety of holes in the connector — it works with roller stands, light stands, and tripods. Just be mindful of weight limits. I’ve mounted it on the Avenger Roller Stand I picked up specifically for this setup, and it’s working great. What really stands out is the flexibility. I would think you can easily add or even build custom accessories to fit your workflow. Overall, I definitely recommend it. I’m planning to use it as a standing desk when I’m not on shoots, which will really maximize its utility. It's going to elevate the look and feel of my setups, impress clients, and ultimately pay for itself. EclipticMediaPhoto.net

The only parts you need are the table and mount. I agree with others it is a bit over priced but it's a solid design and works well. The critical part is the connector to the stand. They have done a nice job on that. I have this mounted on a light stand for a 14 laptop that feeds a teleprompter.

No additional accessories are required to mount the Tether Tools Aero Master Pro Tethering Kit (22 x 16" Pad) to a 1/4"-20 tripod head, a 3/8" tripod mount, a 5/8" stud studio stand, or an Arca-style mounting attachment.
