The Virtual Reality Aluminum Base from Manfrotto is a compact, lightweight, and portable support that has a load capacity of 8.8 lb and it is compatible with VR extension booms and supports VR cameras. With two variable leg angles of 23° and 51°, you can spread the legs and stabilize a VR camera on uneven terrain, and the support's rubber feet prevent the 1-section legs from sliding or slipping on smooth surfaces. In addition, the base has a maximum height of 16.1" and a minimum height of 8.3", so your VR camera can get closer to the ground. The tripod weighs 1.3 lb and afterwards, when the aluminum base is not in use, the support folds down to 11.8" for storage and transport.

Manfrotto MBASE Reviews
Works great, but...
Just wish it had a leveling solution. You get what you pay for though, and we weren't willing to spend more than double for the upgraded half-ball leveling model. Used this to create VR tour with the Insta360 One R Works great with the Manfrotto VR Medium Extension Boom.
Perfect tabletop tripod
This tripod can extend to provide a very wide base of support for a camera. It is very strong and very portable yet priced right!
Jaw Dropping Good
For a wide shorter base I added the Feisol CB-30D ball head to this and it was sweeter than a hot fudge sundae! It is strong, VERY well built, easy to use (you toggle the silver knobs to go from narrow to WIDE base. Thank You Manfrotto & B&H!
Built well, but does not serve it's purpose
I should have returned this but I guess I always thought I would find that one situation to justify it. I wish the legs were adjustable in length or that they could move wider. These characteristicsare essential for VR as the wider legs provide stability and the extension give you flexibility, especially in tight spaces.
Works great in conjunction with the Manfrotto VR extention boom. Very sturdy...yet not too heavy. I wish that there was at least one leveling leg to help keep the camera pole vertical on uneven surfaces but other than that it works great.
Perfect for DSLR as a webcam
I was looking for something strong enough to support my DSLR with a nifty fifty with just the right height to sit behind my monitor for use as a webcam. This one is perfect. Strong and solid, non-telescoping legs help to ensure it sits level (and reduces cost and complexity), adjustable column to fine tune the height. I've put a small Manfrotto ballhead on it that I already owned, but a pan-tilt head would be sufficient (and probably preferable) for this use.
