Occasionally faders stop working on an S3 and this fixes it. Easy to replace!

This is a direct replacement for an Avid S3 fader. Very simple to replace, though it didn't include any documentation. Take the cap off the bad fader and remove the 2 screws holding it in. Turn the S3 over Be especially careful when you turn the S3 over to access the rear plate. I folded a clean bath towel over several times and gently placed it on to work on. Unscrew and remove the bottom plate, you may need to pry the plate slightly with a thin tool, take out the loose fader, gently unplug it, plug the new one in. I recommend screwing it in from the top before you replace the bottom plate. then reverse disassembly. When you power it up it the new fader should now be working.
