The iOptron 8x50mm Finderscope is an ideal finder for deep-sky observers who need additional magnification and aperture to be able to detect smaller and dimmer objects outside our solar system like binary stars, nebulae, or galaxies. It comes with its own bracket that is outfitted with a dovetail mount for compatibility with a wide array of finder saddles, and three thumbscrews that enable precise alignment with the OTA.
This is a good optic . my only fault with it is one cannot simply move it within its collar backwards to be more useful given where the mount is on the scope. This I managed to do using the rubber ring provided but pitting it on after I inserted it down the collar and pulling the scope forward til snug - I then cut two small thin pieces of rubber grip and inserted them in the forward end - it works fine - a bit less room for screw adjustments for the cross hairs - but ample. It is very bright and crisp. I've been a customer of B&H since 1981 and they are still the best.
