Zoom ZBTA1 Overview

The Zoom BTA-1 is a Bluetooth adapter designed to allow wireless control of select Zoom devices for enhanced convenience at the studio, in the field, or on stage. Its compact housing fits neatly in your device without obstructing access to other ports. Once configured, it allows wireless control from a distance of up to 32.8 feet.

Wireless Control
The BTA-1 can be used with compatible products for wireless control via mobile apps available on iOS; Android control is available for the F3 and Q8n-4k. You can use these apps to remotely activate recording, monitor and control levels, adjust settings, and more.
Timecode
The BTA-1 can also facilitate the use of wireless timecode on compatible products using the Atomos wireless timecode system (available separately). This allows you to write timecode directly onto audio files on the recorder, keeping all of your audio and video files in sync.
Connect to Handy Guitar Lab
For guitar/bass pedals the BTA-1 can connect directly to Handy Guitar Lab apps via Bluetooth. This wirelessly connects your iPhone or iPad as a secondary interface for your pedal.
Wireless Mixing
On the LiveTrak series, the BTA-1 allows you to connect to an iPad for full mixer control. You can also connect additional iPads via Wi-Fi to give everyone individual monitor controls.

Zoom ZBTA1 Reviews

Worked real good for me

I plugged this into my H6 just like my H8 and it works great. Just be sure to get the right kind of Bluetooth App. The app store keeps on wanting to give me the F8 App. But I must have one complaint. The software on the H8 seems like a better version than the one on the H 6. But the H-6 has a much better layout.

Useful but troubles monitoring sound

Very useful for controlling the Zoom F3 settings from your phone. However, I expected to be able to monitor sound through the phone (so you could connect headphones to the phone instead of the recorder), but that doesn’t seem to be possible, or I haven’t figured it out yet. Other than that, it works great.

"To activate Bluetooth on the H3 recorder, open the home screen on the H3, press "Menu" and select "BTA-1." Once you are in the BTA-1 setting, you can turn Bluetooth on or off. When Bluetooth is on, your iOS device should be able to see the Bluetooth transmitter on the H3." ------- I have installed BTA-1 on recorder, it appears on menu, I have turned on. H3 presents password when I power up but ... there isn't a password entry field on the H3 app. I've tried a little bit of everything but none of the "buttons", menu items are active on H3 app. It doesn't present password field and after few seconds shows 'disconnected' . How do I get H3 app to present password entry field ? thanks ! ?

We would recommend reviewing the following before attempting to pair the iOS device to the H3. First, please make sure the bluetooth function is turned on within the iOS settings. Then please make sure the device is not already paired to another bluetooth device, this would hinder the pairing process. Next, please make sure the two device are close together and away from other bluetooth enabled devices. Finally, when attempting to pair, make sure to only launch the app after the H3 gives you a passcode. If the above process has been followed and still nothing works, then we recommend reaching out to Zoom at (631) 542-5270.

This adapter is only meant to allow a bluetooth connection between select zoom recorders and control apps. If looking for a bluetooth transmitter for bluetooth headphones, here's an option B&H # ALABC53F.

When connected to a Zoom H8, am I able to use the device as a USB mic and record to a DAW using the BTA-1?
Asked by: Ricky
The BTA-1 allows you to monitor and control the H8 remotely and wirelessly from an iOS device via Bluetooth. You can use your iPhone or iPad to monitor level meters and press record, play, and stop in each H8 application mode. While the BTA-1 will provide remote monitoring and control of the H8's functions, it will not enable connection of the H8 to your computer or control of the DAW. But you can use the H8 as a USB audio interface with the onboard mic capsule or with external microphones to record audio to your DAW.

On Zoom F3 page it says BTA-1 will work as Timecode through Ultrasync Blue, so it is only for Zoom F3/BTA-1 or does it work for Zoom F6/BTA-1 combo?
