The cold shoe adapter features a 1/4"-20 screw with a thumbwheel that locks the adapter in your cold shoe and allows you to screw the rod clamp onto the cold shoe adapter. Made from black anodized CNC-machined aluminum, the clamp is precise and durable and features several 1/4"-20 threaded holes in addition to the 15mm rod clamp.

Build quality was good enough, but not the design. there are tension screws keeping the top of the unit in place and I couldn't get it tight enought to hold a follow focus system. Had to move to a cage. If you are just holding a static load it should do just fine.
