CAMVATE C1561 Overview

Support your DSLR, mirrorless, or small camera and add accessories with this DSLR Cage Kit from CAMVATE. The cage kit is made up of a top plate, baseplate, side cheese rod, top handle, and wooden side handgrip.

The side cheese rod creates the height of the cage and can fit any camera up to 6.7" in height. The side rod connects to the cheese-style top plate and baseplate, and it allows the top and baseplate to slide up and down to adjust the interior height, Both plates feature multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 accessory threads for a variety of mounting options. The baseplate features a 1/4"-20 camera mounting screw, as well as padding to protect your camera from scratching and prevent twisting.

The top handle mounts onto the top plate and features a shoe mount, a single 15mm rod port, and multiple accessory threads. The side handgrip is crafted from rosewood for a comfortable grip and connects to the side cheese rod using two anti-twist screws.

Very well made may want to use lock washers on handle to ensure more stable use.

I just bought it and I've only used it for 3 shootings and I already love it. You immediately feel the difference between recording with your naked camera and with the cage on. The camera becomes more heavy and stable. You can shoot at low angles without any problem thanks to the top handle. It is very versatile. Everything can be reconfigured to use it on the opposite side, except the wooden handle, of course, because it is designed to fit the right hand, although you could get used to using it backwards and grabbing it with the left hand to take advantage of both the camera grip and the one from the cage (which is what I did). You can also make your own DIY wooden handle and replace it. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

You could always mount the camera in it, in the opposite direction to have it aligned on the left side. However the hand grip would not line up properly.

The bottom plate has multiple thread mounts on it for the common thread sizes. If you have a mounting plate that came with your tripod that you would normally thread onto your camera you can attach it to the bottom of the plate and put the cage on top of your tripod.
