question

If this softbox interferes with the auto focus assist and the auto exposure, what is the best way to use it? Can my SB 600 flash still be used wirelessly as a slave with my Nikon d 90 in the commander mode set to TTL metering? Or,do I need to use manual metering and manual focus when using this softbox? I also have a SC-28A TTL cord that will work, but I'm mostly inquiring about the wireless capabilities with this softbox on my external flash.

The softbox will interfere with the auto focus assist light. TTL will work fine. The Nikon built in wireless system is infrared so it is line of site. In most cases it will not be an issue but if you position the speedlight and the sensor is blocked it might not see the signal from the camera. Also infrared signals do not work well in bright sunlight. The options are getting a radio sync that works in TTL.Pocketwizard brand which is very good needs to parts and are not sold together. The link for them is, http://bhpho.to/1hlqgvWPhottix makes a kit with a transmitter and receiver that will work, http://bhpho.to/1eN2ia2
