ONA Bowery Overview

The Bowery Camera Bag in Oxford blue by ONA holds a DSLR and a lens, or a mirrorless camera with two lenses and accessories. The Bowery can be used as a compact standalone bag, or as an insert to protect your camera in a larger bag. This handcrafted bag is made of water-resistant waxed canvas and is detailed with solid brass hardware.

The Bowery features a padded interior with removable divider which provides a dedicated space to hold an extra lens. There are five open pockets on the exterior of the bag, two on the front, two on the sides, and one on the back. They allow you to hold easy-to-grab accessories like a phone, keys, and memory cards. A front flap on the bag can be secured with a tuck-clasp closure, and features side weather flaps for extra protection. For carrying the bag, a removable, adjustable shoulder strap is included.

This is the BEST sized bag I have ever owned. It fits my Fuji and lens with no problem and yet can still fit in between the seats of my Mini Cooper. If you are thinking of a gorgeous bag this one will not disappoint! Craftsmanship is absolutely impeccable!

Better than expected

Bag is built of high quality leather and has ample cushioning for protection. The bag itself is also a bit slimmer that I had anticipated, which was a positive for me. You can easily fit your camera, one or two lenses, along with an extra battery and smaller items. The bag does have a backside pocket, but I would not trust it with an iPad. The only thing I would like to see from Ona for this bag is to offer additional dividers specifically for the Bowery. The bag comes with one (rather nice) divider, but there doesn't not seem to be a way to order another stock Bowery divider.

I bought this bag 9 years ago with one of my first paychecks after graduating college. It still looks amazing despite the fact that I've used it so many times. I really appreciate the high quality and durability, especially in this day and age where everything seems to fall apart five minutes after you spend $$$ on it. Absolutely love my Bowery.

I purchased this as a gift and my husband loved it. The details are lovely, it has a good number of pockets and it's easy to adjust. Most importantly, the cameras inside feel safe and he looks stylish.

Nice bag but poorly assembled

I've always heard great things about ONA but in recent reviews, I've read a few instances of poor craftsmanship or materials used in the assembling of their bags. I order a leather Bowery in hopes of getting one built to the high quality standards and attention to detail that they claim to provide in their products. Once it arrives, the exterior looks great but the craftsmanship and stitching of the interior is questionable and very inconsistent in quality. Despite their "limited lifetime warranty" I'd prefer to get one assembled well from the start (especially for almost $350). So I make an attempt to order an additional 2 more of the same bags in an attempt to get a well made one without defects. I receive the additional 2 and sure enough, both have similar issues with the interior along with some questionable exterior flaws like the side flaps not collapsing correctly and potentially exposing the interior to weather. Needless to say, I had high expectations of this product but they fell short of their quality standards.

These leather ONA bags are for life. Classy, stylish, and well-made. It's my third ONA (I have the backpack and the larger version of this one too). All were purchased from BH.

Love it....compact, small...holds my Olympus OM-1 film camera with lens attached plus an additional lens. Also I usually have a few rolls of film. The side pockets are not large but are okay for note pads, pens... the front slide pocket, while not a lot of depth, does hold other pads, tickets, etc... The leather waxy and holds up well against all weather. The clasp, is attached with a metal clasp and leather support. I like the shoulder strap since it allows me to put around my neck, / shoulder so it is not banging against my body. I have had no issues with this bag and I have had it for several years. Would easily purchase if needed again. The color Field Tan has been cleaned by myself if needed as I just rub a wet towel over and it cleans right up. Excellent product...extremely high quality.

Wonderful bag for lightweight days

Love this bag! Leather is high quality, perfect color and wile likely patina wonderfully with age. There's just enough room for my XT-5 and a few accessories, which is perfect for me since I bought this as a lightweight traveling bag. Depending on the lens you use you should be able to fit a second lens in as well.

This is a fantastic bag, but I do not believe it will hold a 10.5 inch tablet. It will hold an 8" iPad depending on the camera you have in the bag. There is also an exterior pocket on the back that will hold the 8" iPad but I don't think it's secure enough, so I would not use it for that. I use this bag to hold a Nikon D500 with an attached 18-300mm lens. I also carry the battery charger. Under these conditions, I can not fit the 8" iPad unless I use the exterior pocket.

Clarification of my original question: Is the hardware on the NYLON BAG, ALL BLACK really antique brass? The photos make its hardware (the black nylon bag) look like nickel silver.

It is not brass color. It is made of brass.It is solid brass hardware in a sleek gunmetal finish.

The canvas is treated to be weather resistant, you can also coat it in a layer of rub on wax which would also help. If you want an actual dedicated rain cover, you could do this one FR91000256

Would the Ona Bowery hold an Olympus OMD EM1 mkii with attached 12-100 Pro lens? With or without hood in place? Any room for a second small lens?

Yes, the ONA Bowery Camera Bag, will hold a Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera with an Olympus 12-100mm Pro lens with hood, but it will be tight, and their would not be room for a second lens.

Small lens and flash is relative, but you should be able to fit a V-Lux, lens and flash in this bag.

The ONA Bowery Camera Bag (Leather, Antique Cognac) version uses brass hardware. Some of the other colors such as Pebbled Walnut or Black Canvas use nickel.
