Control select Vixen Optics mounts with their Star Book One Hand Controller; and use it to help find, track, and observe celestial objects with the touch of a button and with greater accuracy and less vibration than doing it manually. Since near and deep sky objects appear to move at different speeds, the SB1 features celestial, solar, lunar, and King's rate tracking speeds; and variable slew speeds from 0.1x to 999x of sidereal allow you to move the mount to find an object or re-center your subject as fast or slow as you need it to. An integrated AutoGuider port, compatible with SBIG guiders, enables external computer control if desired.
For enhanced accuracy, the SB1 features backlash compensation and Periodic Error Correction (PEC) for addressing errors that are common with any tracking system, which can otherwise lead to blurry images and star streaks, or cause objects to drift in the field of view during long observation sessions. An integrated autoguider port adds to the mount's usability; while the adjustable screen brightness preserves night-adjusted vision and a red LED utility light provides illumination for changing eyepieces and filters. For added convenience, the controller is powered by the mount, so there is no need for additional batteries or other power sources.
