While TTL is supported, full manual control is available from 1/1 to 1/128 power. For additional help, an LED autofocus assist light is present on the YN-24EX and users have access to both 1st and 2nd curtain sync. For working with other systems, a PC sync port is available, and the flash runs off four AA batteries or a HV power pack, both of which offer a recycle time of three seconds at maximum power. Additionally, it comes with 52, 58, 67, and 72mm adapter rings.

Yongnuo YN-24EX Reviews

Wish I bought Canon flash to start

My first flash lasted less than six months before it started not flashing. The second unit took a bit longer but has the same symptoms: randomly does not flash. Sometimes I get 100 flashes before it starts & sometimes less than 10. The flash will often stop working during the worst possible times (ie: tracking a bug/spider for 5 minutes and it finally turns toward me for a full face shot and ... no flash) Stewart Wood (macro photographer on youtube) had to get rid of his for same issue as has at least one reviewer for Canon Flashes. I believe Stewart switched to Godox MF-12. I'm leery of MF-12 since the flash heads have non-replaceable internal batteries. I can't have the power die when I need it.

so far, i like this, you can fit the flash next to the lens, if the ring adapter fits, or you can place the flash units onto the main unit. I like this, for shooting with in 20 feet.

There are no color filters designed for the Yongnuo YN-24EX TTL Macro Flash for Canon Cameras, but you could use color gels, cut to the right size: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?q=color%20gels&filters=fct_category%3Alighting_filters_1329

How does the light from this unit compare with that from the 14EX (which I have)?

This thing puts out a lot of light. I do macro, 0.5x to 2x, and I typically use 1/128th to 1/32nd power depending on the depth of field I'm looking for.

It depends on the diameter/filter size of your lens, not the camera itself. Read the features carefully; four adapters are included, but if you need something different, you'll have to order it separately.
