Kodak S-1 Overview

Capable of creating 16.8MP stills and Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps, the white PIXPRO S-1 with 12-45mm and 42.5-160mm Lenses from Kodak is a mirrorless camera aimed at those wanting to upgrade from a fixed lens camera to a system with interchangeable lenses. It does not include an EFV, instead choosing to preview pictures with its sizable 3.0" 920k-dot LCD display. The screen is articulated, and can be tilted up 90° and down 45° for easy use even when shooting at an angle.

By following the Micro Four Thirds standard for its CMOS sensor size and its lens attachment, the S-1 achieves compatibility with several third-party MFT lenses for a wide array of options. Thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi capability, you can connect the camera wirelessly to a smart device using iOS or Android and transfer images for instant sharing. Another convenient feature of this camera is its sensor shift image stabilization system, which helps keep images sharp at slower shutter speeds regardless of the lens used.

The S-1 is equipped with a built-in stereo microphone found at the top of the lens mount, allowing you to easily record audio together with video. Additional features of this camera include a 360° panorama mode with automatic stitching, continuous shooting up to 4 fps, a maximum ISO of 12800, and Eye-Fi card compatibility. This model of the PIXPRO S-1 comes with a small external flash, which easily slides onto the hot shoe for use in low light situations, as well as the PIXPRO ED 12-45mm f/3.5-6.3 AF SZ and PIXPRO ED 42.5-160mm f/3.9-5.9 AF SZ lenses.

Micro 4/3 CMOS Sensor
Produces 16.8MP photos at a ratio of 4:3, for a maximum resolution of 4640 x 3480. Capable of creating 1920 x 1080 videos at 30 fps, 1280 x 720 at 60 fps, and VGA at 120 fps.
Micro Four Thirds System
By following the MFT standard that is used in many mirrorless cameras, the PIXPRO S-1 achieves full compatibility including auto-focus with many third-party lenses, such as some Olympus and Panasonic models.
LCD Display
With a resolution of 920k pixels and a size of 3.0", the screen is the camera's only display and is used for both previewing and menu navigation. It is articulated and can tilt upwards to 90° and downwards to 45°.
Image Stabilization
By utilizing sensor-shift stabilization, the S-1 can compensate for small amounts of shaking and movement and create sharper photos during low light situations.
Shooting Modes
Apart from classic PSAM and auto modes, the camera has options such as 360° panorama, fireworks, snow, and night portrait for simplified shooting.
Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi capabilities allow it to connect to a smartphone or tablet running iOS 7 or higher, or Android 4.2 or higher. This enables you to transfer images for easier sharing on social media. The camera is also compatible with optional Eye-Fi cards, which can upload pictures to a computer or smart device.
File Format and Storage
The S-1 produces JPEG and RAW files, either separately or in conjunction, as well as MOV files with H.264 encoding for movies. A user-supplied SD or SDHC card is used for storage.

is the 42.5-160mm lens a telephoto lens? what is the ISO range? Thanks!
Asked by: william
With a Micro Four Thirds sensor, 12mm is wide, 25mm is medium and 50mm is telephoto. So the 42.5-160mm with a MFT sensor camera is considered to be a telephoto zoom lens.
