I am looking to purchase the TP-Link RE360 AC1200 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender. Does this plug into my router and do I need accessories to set it up ?

No. You plug it into an outlet near your wireless router. Use the app mentioned in instructions to set it up. Then, if necessary you can move it further away to where you actually want it and plug it in again. Use the app to name the network and customize any other settings.

question

I want to extend my router signal strength beyond walls of my house towards my training field 500 feet away from the house. Will this work?
Asked by: SoonMeng
No. You need a device more like the Engenius or Ubiquiti long range antennas. You can indeed get 500' if you use TWO such devices and set them up in a client bridge configuration (one at each end.)
