The Lectrosonics 2-Person SRc Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System Kit for Standalone Use from B&H is designed to deliver pristine audio and reliable performance for professional filmmaking and TV applications, when used with an audio bag.


The kit includes an SRc dual-channel slot-mount receiver and two SMWB beltpack transmitters, each with an M152/5P omnidirectional lavalier microphone. The bodypacks also function as portable recorders, great in situations when wireless reception is compromised. Also included is the SREXT adapter kit with two locking TA3-M balanced output connectors and a locking power jack connector.

Lectrosonics SMWB Wideband Beltpack Transmitter/Recorder (A1: 470 to 537 MHz)

The Lectrosonics SMWB is a wireless beltpack transmitter that can also act as a recording device, capturing audio onto microSDHC cards. Paired with a lavalier or dynamic microphone, the transmitter is suitable for ENG (Electronic News Gathering), EFP (Electronic Field Productions), interviews for broadcast TV, and more. It provides Digital Hybrid Wireless technology, combining 24-bit digital-audio processing with an analog FM radio link to give you the benefits of both worlds, such as fewer dropouts and audio artifacts while maintaining a robust range of operation. The transmitter is housed in a machined aluminum case, lending the unit a rugged and dependable shell. Its water-resistant control panel adds to its usability.

Operating in the A1: 470 to 537 MHz band, the transmitter offers selectable outputs to bolster its operating range, specifically among 25, 40, and 100mW. At lower values, the transmitter’s battery life will last longer; at higher values, the operating range is increased, though at the expense of battery life. Lightweight at 2.7 oz, the transmitter boasts settings which make it compatible with dynamic microphones, electret lavaliers, and even line-level sources—so long as they can plug into the TA5M 5-pin input connector.

Input gain adjustment is possible in 1 dB increments for a total range of 44 dB. You’ll also note the low-pass filters, which can be switched to roll off at 30, 50, 70, 120, or 150 Hz to mitigate low-end disturbances. This input section also boasts servo-bias input circuitry proprietary to Lectrosonics, as well as an analog limiter controlled with DSP that, sitting ahead of the mic preamp itself, protects the audio path from overload. With its dual-release envelope, it maintains acoustic transparency, even though it can achieve over 30 dB of gain reduction.

The SMWB utilizes DSP that renders it suitable for use with all Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid receivers, though it is also backward compatible for use with 100 and 200 series transmitters, IFB receivers, and various analog receivers from third-party manufactures. The unit is powered by one AA battery, making use of switching power supplies to offer consistent voltages to its internal circuitry throughout its battery life. One AA battery is included. 

Expanding the SMWB’s functionality is its built-in recording capability, for use when transmission is simply not possible due to the conditions of the environment. The recorder operates at 24-bit/44.1 kHz, recording .WAV files to microSDHC cards. As a transmitter, the SMWB supplies an audio frequency range of 35 Hz to 20 kHz, though during recording, that lower value extends down to 20 Hz. You cannot use the transmitter and the recorder simultaneously, but it’s nice to have the option to select between the two. The transmitter includes a flexible steel-cable antenna.

Lectrosonics M152/5P Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with TA5F Connector (Black)

The black Lectrosonics M152/5P is an omnidirectional lavalier microphone, featuring a wide frequency response that accentuates the presence and character of the human voice. The mic offers a 3.3' cable, terminating in a TA5F connector designed to work with any Lectrosonics transmitter or recorder with a TA5M input.

The M152's frequency response is measured at 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a slight rise around 10 kHz, resulting in a brighter, more "airy" response. A low-frequency roll-off around 50 Hz reduces noise caused by proximity effect and ambience. The omnidirectional polar pattern provides a generous response at both the direct and off-axis sections of the microphone capsule, helping to ensure consistent levels.

Compatible Wireless Transmitters and Recorders

  • Lectrosonics: Works with current and legacy Lectrosonics transmitter and recorder models equipped with a TA5M connector, including the following: SMWB, SMDWB, LMb, LT, MTCR, SPDR, SMV, SMQV, and DBu (TA5M version).
  • The M152/5P can also be used with third-party transmitters that are equipped to supply 1.3 to 10 VDC through a TA5M connector with a Lectrosonics servo-bias wiring configuration.

Wide Frequency Response with Presence Boost

A wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range with a light low-end roll-off filter below 50 Hz along with a 2 to 3 dB presence boost in the 10 to 12 kHz range allows the M152 to provide crisp and accurate reproduction of speech and vocals.

Omnidirectional Polar Pattern

The forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all around the mic and provides a consistent frequency response, even for off-axis sound. This helps to supply clear, intelligible speech, even when the talent isn't speaking directly toward the microphone.

Headroom for Standard Speech Applications

The mic is designed to handle speech at levels up to 114 dB without distortion, enough headroom for most broadcast and presentation applications.

The SRc Dual-Channel Slot-Mount ENG Receiver from Lectrosonics consist of two separate receivers built into a single, ultra-compact housing with adapters for video-camera-receiver slots and for stand-alone use. They can be used when paired with a transmitter & microphone (sold separately) in various environments for ENG (Electronic News Gathering), EFP (Electronic Field Productions) and other audio applications.

Each receiver features Digital Hybrid Wireless technology that provides compandor-free audio quality and compatibility with other wireless systems. The RF performance is stable over a wide temperature range, making the receiver perfectly suited in rough environmental conditions.

The front panel has a menu-driven LCD interface and four membrane switches which are used to view and alter settings. In addition, the LCD window displays the pilot-tone indicator, diversity activity, RF level, audio level, and transmitter battery status for both receivers.

Furthermore, a built-in spectrum analyzer scans across the tuning range of the receiver and displays a histogram of RF activity across the band. Areas of RF activity are easily recognizable. The two internal receivers can be operated separately and both have switching, antenna-combining diversity, or in tandem with ratio-diversity reception.

Finally, a variety of output adapters and mounting options are available for camera-slot operation. The receivers are powered from an external 7 to 18 VDC source.

Lectrosonics SREXT SR Receiver Mounting Kit for Stand Alone Operation

The Lectrosonics SREXT is a connector panel adapter kit for the Lectrosonics SR Dual Slot-In Receiver. The kit is intended to provide the freedom of using the SR Receiver on standard, non slot-in mount scenarios. On the included connector panel are two TA3-male jacks for balanced output and a power jack with a locking connector. An unterminated power cable may trimmed to a desired length.

This is a slot in receiver which means it will not connect to a battery directly. Instead it will feed off the camera power/battery or through other slot systems. If you don't already have a slot-in system, this is most likely not the right system to suit your needs.
