The SRC/SMWB Dual Transmitter and Receiver for Bag System Kit from Lectrosonics includes two Lectrosonics SMWB beltpack transmitters, two M152/5P omnidirectional lavalier microphones, an SRc dual-channel slot-mount ENG receiver, and a SREXT SR receiver mounting kit for stand-alone operation. It can be used as a recording device, capturing audio onto microSDHC cards and for ENG (Electronic News Gathering), EFP (Electronic Field Productions), and interviews for broadcast TV applications.

The transmitter offers selectable outputs to bolster its operating range from 25, 40, and 100mW. Input-gain adjustments are possible in 1 dB increments for a total range of 44 dB. Low-pass filters can be switched to roll off 30, 50, 70, 120, and 150 Hz to mitigate low-end disturbances. Furthermore, the omnidirectional, electret lavaliers terminate into a TA5M 5-pin input connector. Their frequency response is from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a slight rise around 10 kHz, resulting in a brighter "airier" response.

The SRc dual-channel slot-mount ENG receiver consist of two separate receivers built into a single, ultra-compact housing with adapters for video-camera-receiver slots and for stand-alone use. Each receiver is equipped with Digital Hybrid wireless technology that provides compandor-free audio and is compatible with other wireless systems.

A built-in spectrum analyzer scans across the tuning range of the receiver and displays a histogram of RF activity across the band. Areas of RF activity are easily recognizable. The two internal receivers can be operated separately and both have switching, antenna-combining diversity, or in tandem with ratio-diversity reception. A variety of output adapters and mounting options are available for the kits camera-slot operation.

    The Lectrosonics SMWB is a wireless beltpack transmitter that can also act as a recording device, capturing audio onto microSDHC cards. Paired with a lavalier or dynamic microphone, the transmitter is suitable for ENG (Electronic News Gathering), EFP (Electronic Field Productions), interviews for broadcast TV, and more. It provides Digital Hybrid Wireless technology, combining 24-bit digital-audio processing with an analog FM radio link to give you the benefits of both worlds, such as fewer dropouts and audio artifacts while maintaining a robust range of operation. The transmitter is housed in a machined aluminum case, lending the unit a rugged and dependable shell. Its water-resistant control panel adds to its usability.

    Operating in the A1 range (470.100 to 537.575 MHz), the transmitter offers selectable outputs to bolster its operating range, specifically among 25, 40, and 100mW. At lower values, the transmitter’s battery life will last longer; at higher values, the operating range is increased, though at the expense of battery life. Lightweight at 2.7 oz, the transmitter boasts settings which make it compatible with dynamic microphones, electret lavaliers, and even line-level sources—so long as they can plug into the TA5M 5-pin input connector.

    Input gain adjustment is possible in 1 dB increments for a total range of 44 dB. You’ll also note the low-pass filters, which can be switched to roll off at 30, 50, 70, 120, or 150 Hz to mitigate low-end disturbances. This input section also boasts servo-bias input circuitry proprietary to Lectrosonics, as well as an analog limiter controlled with DSP that, sitting ahead of the mic preamp itself, protects the audio path from overload. With its dual-release envelope, it maintains acoustic transparency, even though it can achieve over 30 dB of gain reduction.

    The SMWB utilizes DSP that renders it suitable for use with all Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid receivers, though it is also backward compatible for use with 100 and 200 series transmitters, IFB receivers, and various analog receivers from third-party manufactures. The unit is powered by one AA battery, making use of switching power supplies to offer consistent voltages to its internal circuitry throughout its battery life.

    Expanding the SMWB’s functionality is its built-in recording capability, for use when transmission is simply not possible due to the conditions of the environment. The recorder operates at 24-bit/44.1 kHz, recording .WAV files to microSDHC cards. As a transmitter, the SMWB supplies an audio frequency range of 35 Hz to 20 kHz, though during recording, that lower value extends down to 20 Hz. You cannot use the transmitter and the recorder simultaneously, but it’s nice to have the option to select between the two. The transmitter includes a flexible steel-cable antenna.

    The Lectrosonics M152/5P Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is highly sensitive, and features a wide frequency response that accentuates the presence and character of the human voice. The M150's frequency response is measured at 20Hz to 20kHz with a slight rise around 10kHz, resulting in a brighter, more "airy" response. A low frequency dip around 50Hz reduces noise caused by proximity effect and ambience. The omni-directional polar pattern provides a generous response at the direct and off-axis sections of the microphone capsule. The M152/5P is compatible with any Lectrosonics beltpack with a TA5 connector.

    The SRc Dual-Channel Slot-Mount ENG Receiver from Lectrosonics consist of two separate receivers built into a single, ultra-compact housing with adapters for video-camera-receiver slots and for stand-alone use.     The Lectrosonics SREXT is a connector panel adapter kit for the Lectrosonics SR Dual Slot-In Receiver. The kit is intended to provide the freedom of using the SR Receiver on standard, non slot-in mount scenarios. On the included connector panel are two TA3-male jacks for balanced output and a power jack with a locking connector. An unterminated power cable may trimmed to a desired length.
