KanexPro USB-A Male to USB-A Female 3.1 Gen 1 Reviews
116' version is not 'super-speed'
Adding this extension cable to a usb wireless adapter, halved the download/upload speed. OK for extending a printer cable.
Not Powerful Enough
The 32' cable works for things like USB thumb/stick drives, but for a webcam it didn't work. My webcam is power-hungry, so that might be the issue for my situation (it is a three-camera 180 degrees webcam). It runs off of a normal USB 3 port, so I was hoping the extra power on this cord would work. It didn't. It did recognize my USB thumb drive, so I know it does work for some applications. Your mileage may vary depending on how you intend to use it. Otherwise, it does seem like a quality built product.
Mine Died after 3 Months
It worked great until it didn't. It kept connecting and unconnected. Very disappointed and don't know what the issue is. Tested on multiple cameras and computers and it's this cable for sure. I might still recommend it, but with this warning.
Waiting for the (16) to be in stock. Purchase this one instead. Results are the same, with a longer reach. Very good choice.
Used for remote setup.
I use this for cable so i can hook my PC peripherals up in my living room. It works as intended although I have had some issues with blue snowball mic detection not sure if it is specifically related to the cable. In addition my trigger keys on my controller seem to be modulated not sure if that is a result of the repeater function or another issue with my setup all in all I am happy with this product.
Same function and design compared to Tether Tool version at $30 less.
Poor Connectors on the ends - can't use it.
I was so excited to be able to use USB 3 at a long distance (I tether my Nikon to my computer). I wanted to run it through the window so I could stay warm while operating the camera which was on the tracking telescope outside 25 DegF ! I had it in the bag for couple of weeks then took it out to test it. And (bad words here) it did not work, then it worked, then it didn't work, then it did, then it did not, then not not not! Wiggle the ends and it might work. Let go - gone! It could be just this one unit or who knows? I tossed it on the shelf - I should have sent it back to B&H - but probably too late now. (Hey B&H could I return it at this late date?)
Great VR Extension Solution
Purchased to try as an alternative for the Oculus Link cable on the Quest 2. Works like a charm. Attach whatever high speed USB A to C cable you want to the extension, plug in the headset and you are good to go. Had for about 3 months now and no issues so far. Super happy with this product for the price and an awesome alternative to the Official Link Cable @$90. 32' feet is really nice for extending to different rooms!
