Dell 7520 Overview

Designed with powerful performance and a compact form factor, the 15.6" Precision 7520 Mobile Workstation from Dell well-suited for those on-the-go users. It is powered by a 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7-7820HQ Quad-Core processor that allows you to run multiple applications simultaneously. The processor also features a boost speed of up to 3.9 GHz and the system's 16GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM, which may be upgraded to 64GB, allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs, as well as help to ensure efficient multitasking. The system's memory comes in a 2 x 8GB configuration and there are two additional memory slots available for upgrades.

The 15.6" UltraSharp IPS display features a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, LED backlighting, 300 cd/m2 brightness. The dedicated AMD Radeon Pro WX 4130 graphics card has 2GB of GDDR5 RAM and delivers a sharp, clear picture. You'll also be able to output video to an external display using the built-in HDMI 1.4 and mini DisplayPort 1.4 outputs at resolutions up to 8K (7680 x 4320) with additional support for HDR.

For storage of your files, this Precision 7520 is equipped with a 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD, and there is also an empty 2.5" / 7mm SATA drive bay for additional internal storage. If you want to add external storage, optical drives, memory card readers, and more, the Precision 7520 offers one Thunderbolt 3 port and four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, all four of which double as charging ports. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi are built-in for wired and wireless networking, and Bluetooth 4.1 technology will also allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals. So that content from memory cards may be accessed, a built-in SD 4.0 card reader supports SD/SDHC/SDXC UHS-II flash media and lets users download content from their digital camera. Other integrated features include a 720p webcam, an integrated microphone, and stereo speakers.

The 15.6" Precision 7520 Mobile Workstation includes a power cord, a 180W AC adapter that operates using 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz, and a 6-cell / 91Wh lithium-ion polymer battery with ExpressCharge. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) and protection is provided by a limited 3-year hardware warranty with onsite/in-home service after remote diagnosis.

General Features
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
SD 4.0 Card Reader
The card reader supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards. The Ultra High Speed Phase II (UHS-II) bus design was added for the SD 4.0 spec, which consists of an additional design enhancement with connector interface modifications to increase performance. UHS-II specs define bus architecture for maximums of 156 MB/s to 312 MB/s using the four-lane (two differential lanes) UHS-II bus and its additional row of physical pins.
USB 3.0 Type-A
The Precision 7520 has four USB 3.0 Type-A ports that operate at speeds up to 5 Gb/s and can be used to connect USB-compatible peripherals to your system, such as external storage, optical drives, printers, memory card readers, and more.
PowerShare
The USB 3.0 Type-A ports are equipped with USB PowerShare technology. This allows you to select how much of the battery's charge can be used to charge external devices. If you set the USB PowerShare to 25%, the external device is allowed to charge until the laptop battery reaches 25% of its full capacity, so 75% of the Precision's charge is used up. If the system is running on battery power alone, PowerShare will only power devices while the system is in a 'low power state' (standby mode).
Battery Charge Configuration
There are five battery charging configurations available, including Adaptive, Standard, which fully charges the battery at a normal rate, ExpressCharge, which charges the battery over a shorter period of time using Dell's fast charging technology, Primarily AC use, and Custom. If Custom is selected, you can also configure charging start and stop times.

Solid-state NVMe PCIe storage gives you the space to store, transfer, and access complex 3D, multimedia, and video files quickly and reliably. And with up to 3TB of total system storage, split between 2.5" SATA and PCIe M.2 storage, you'll have space for large projects.

It automatically tunes your workstation to run popular Independent Software Vendor (ISV) applications at the fast speed possible for the improved results.

Windows 10
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
Windows 10 Pro
The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for businesses users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.
