    Crucial MX500 reviews

    1TB MX500 2.5" Internal SSD is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First SSD After reading a bunch of reviews from many different sources, I reduced my choices of SSD's to either Samsung or Crucial. Specs on each were similar but in the end Crucial was less expensive. I cloned my OS drive onto the SSD after installing it and when I changed my BIOS to boot from the SSD I was amazed at the performance increase. Most of my PC use is for editing photos and some videos, I use Lightroom CC and it's a pretty sluggish program but with this SSD the program starts up in just a few seconds and operates great. I use a Desktop, midsize tower running Windows 10 and really I can't say enough good about this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value fast and durable If you are looking to replace an ageing HDD or are building a new machine and want a solid state, fast and durable drive then look no further. I have been building the Crucial MX300 series SSDs into commercial machines for my customers for over 2 years and recently changed to the newer MX500 SSDs. These are even better and the Crucial brand is very reliable, fast and excellent value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Bargain I have purchased 2 of these now; one for myself and another as a gift. My primary application is using these as game drives; I run my OS on a separate NVME drive. The drives work well and are slightly over-provisioned; very nice of Crucial to do that. Setup took about 5 mins to get my computer to format the SSD and assign a drive letter. The free software from Crucial is nice for keeping an eye on the drive health. Drive access speeds seem the same as comparable Samsung 2.5" SSD's I also have in my rig. I like that crucial is applying some good pressure to the market and helping to drive costs down. The drive arrived 1 day earlier than B&H's estimated arrival date; nice. Would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an improvement. Upgraded my Dell 1TB hard drive with the Crucial night and day. Fast efficient and went from 3 minutes to startup my old HD to about 30 seconds with the new SSD....if you have not made the change to SSD, please do. You will not be disappointed. Plus I got the usual wonderful service that has made B&H famous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speedy & affordable When I need a SSD, I go with the Crucial brand. I've installed a bunch of these in my personal macs over the years and haven't been let down yet (knocks on wood)! I bought this one to help out my old (2010) iMac 27" and it did the trick. Sped it up as much as a SSD can. Runs much smoother and boots up super fast. I also maxed out the ram on this machine and it's fast enough for my photo editing again. If you have an older mac that works well but is just a bit laggy, a SSD should really breathe new life into it. Worth it. Every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Reliable I replaced my 120GB Intel SSD with this using the included software that must be downloaded from Acronis. Due to the fact that their website is a mess I had to rate this one star lower. Once I had the correct software downloaded, I could not install it till my new SSD was connected to my system. This is to prevent anyone from using it. When copying your old drive, I recommend using an external drive caddy connected by USB. That way, you are not pulling and attaching cables inside your computer until you know that you have a good copy of your image on the Crucial SSD. I wanted to copy multiple small SSDs to it but Acronis could not do it. 5 Stars for the SSD and its performance, but -1 for the software by Acronis. It worked for basic copying of an existing drive but for a nearly $300.00 SSD, it would be nice to have the option of copying multiple drives to one fast SSD. Overall a great new product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Laptop upgrade - turbo charged now! 3 year old business laptop, with 16gb memeory, Intel i7 and 500gb 7,200 rpm disk running slower than 2 years ago. Tried all the tricks to speed up. Bought this SSD, cloned and it's faster than new! Very happy that my Levono has at least 2 to 3 more useful years in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New life for laptop - don't forget to update bios first! Duplicated disk in my sabrent usb device and installed in my 3 year old Dell Inspiron. Would not boot until reinstalling original disk and running PC manufacturer updates - particularly BIOS. Then worked fine!
