Would this be compatible with Mac OS Catalina
Asked by: Francisco
Honestly, I can't answer your question with 100% confidence. I would recommend viewing the manufacture's web site or consider calling them to be sure. The MyCloud is connected by an Ethernet cable. It speaks to a PC/laptop via WiFi. I have copies over 5 Gb from older external drives. Though not physically connected to the PC/laptop it behaves as though it was. A simple copy and paste will copy data to the MyCloud. There is an Apple app for the MyCloud device. While using the app on my iPhone, I can view pictures, play music, etc. from anywhere I have a signal. So, while I have not used a Mac to store or access data on a MyCloud. I am reasonably confident that it should. Initial setup is via a web browser. Once connected to Western Digital it should know it is connected to an Apple product and configure it appropriately. However, I can't prove that by person experience. Though I am a little uncomfortable with my data web accessible, the convenience and performance is very good. I would recommend reading the MyCloud Personal Cloud Storage -Product Overview PDF. It says it will wirelessly back up and sync your PC and Mac computers and cloud accounts. There is a link to download the data sheet link on the Western Digital website below the product description. Hope this helps!
