    WD My Cloud Home reviews

My Cloud Home 8TB 1-Bay Personal Cloud NAS Server (1 x 8TB) is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a product for professionals I have 11 of the WD My Cloud 2 to 8TB NAS to store my shoots on . I simply map a drive and copy the shoot files to the drive, Very simple. I tried this with WD My Cloud Home,it fails after 50 to 150GB with an IO error. It erases all he files when the device is rebooted. Tried this three times with varying failure points 60, 70 and 145GB of file transferred.  The old My Cloud NAS work very well. Called WD product support. The bottom line is this device is not intended to be used in this manner. It is intended to upload and down load a few pictures form a smart device over the external network. For people who use DLNA, this device does not support it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You loose all control I have 6 WD Mycloud NAS products. and I'm very happy with them. This new line is complete garbage. You don't have any control over settings. You cannot create shares with different access for different users. You cannot SSH. You can do nothing!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It was a great family (My Cloud) but NOT any longer I am using WD since they came out to the market... Many years. You could use your own setting and manage the device with the great Smartware software tool. That is all belong to the past.. They took it all! And they did not asked us me... No more control in our hands, and the smartware software is not compatible with the new cloud. My only advise, let them change it back, or I would not buy the second new drive... I have alraedy 8 old ones...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the storage - But the old software was BETTER It will work well as a cloud storage device. But the new HD will not work with Smartware, and will be limited in setting by the user! The OLD GUI was way better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
