Really compact and easy to use. I was surprised by how good it is. The ball head isn't very fluid and smooth as with more expensive ball heads, but I'm ok with that. I'm using this for my mono-pod as a walk around support.

Can I use this on a flat Platypod plate? The lock would need to be full locked with the handle no lower than the base of the Ball head.
You picked a perfect head for low work. The main locking lever has a ratchet feature that pulls out and repositions so that it will not be stopped from locking.
