The 500GB rSSD7101A NVMe RAID PCIe Internal SSD from HighPoint provides a total storage capacity of 500GB at ultra-fast sequential read and write speeds for desktop systems with an available PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. On the inside of the PCIe card housing, two M.2 SSDs are on board operating under NVMe technology, which is faster than SATA-based interfaces. The drives are preconfigured in a RAID 0 array that enhances each of the drive's transfer rates, and you can reconfigure the drives in a single disk or RAID 1 array to suit your needs. This combination of features is delivered to your system via a PCIe 3.0 x16 interface, so the rSSD7101A can deliver up to 6800 MB/s sequential reads and 3000 MB/s sequential writes. Furthermore, this level of performance makes the rSSD7101A a non-bootable drive, which requires a separate optional storage drive for the system to boot.
Each SSD features TRIM support that promotes the longevity and endurance of NVMe storage by enabling each SSD to handle garbage collection more efficiently, which helps eliminate write speed degradation. The S.M.A.R.T. monitoring function allows you to check a variety of physical attributes of each NVMe SSD, including temperature readings, voltage, and TBW. To help keep the unit operating at maximum performance, a fan and heat sink draw heat from the SSDs. Aside from temperature control, an interface updates attribute data in real time, and can be even be configured to notify you by email, in the event of an error condition or threshold warning.
