Yongnuo YN568EX III overview

  • 1Description

Jam-packed with features and functions, the YN568EX III Speedlite from Yongnuo is a stellar addition to nearly any lighting kit. This model is directly compatible with Canon's E-TTL / E-TTL II system, permitting on-camera use with automatic exposure capabilities and high-speed sync. It can also function as an optical TTL master for other Canon-compatible flashes or as an optical TTL slave for either Canon or Nikon systems. It is quite powerful as well with a rated guide number of 190' at ISO 100 and 105mm and is versatile thanks to a head that can tilt from -7 to 90° and rotate 270°.

For controlling light, the flash has a zoom head able to be set from 24-105mm along with a wide-angle panel that optimizes coverage for focal lengths as wide as 14mm. This unit also has a fast recycle time of just two seconds. Operation has been improved as well with an AF-assist light and audio signals available. Additionally, it has a 2.5mm sync port and a USB interface for firmware updates.

    Yongnuo YN568EX III reviews

YN568EX III Speedlite for Canon Cameras is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bag included! This is an awesome flash at a great price! On camera, off camera, optical master, optical slave, it does it all! The "In the Box" section only mentions the flash and stand, but a nylon sleeve/bag is also included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from mini-B USB??? Otherwise very pleased... This speedlight replaced my trusty YN568EX II (which was heavily used and gradually developed a loose-ish connection between the hot shoe screw and unit itself); the old unit still works, but would have a limited lifetime with continued heavy use -- it is now my backup unit. The YN568EX III is essentially the same as the 568EX II but with a few nice upgrades in the display (remaining battery life) and a USB port for upgrading firmware. My sense is that it recharges a little faster than the 568EX II, but that's just my impression...not sure if the stats really bear that out or not. The 568EX III is plastic, but expected to survive 2+ years of use -- just like the 568EX II before it. No compatibility probs with sync cord or Yongnuo radio flash triggers (on my Canon 7Dii). My single complaint is that the USB port is an old-style mini-B USB port (not micro-USB)...I had thrown all such old USB cords away and had to buy a new one ($4.99 on Amazon). Barrymck
