The Remote Air 3 Three-Channel Kit from ikan is a compact, wireless lens control system with an ultra-thin, highly responsive handwheel controller, one lightweight receiver motor, and two slave motors. The Bluetooth 4.0-compatible Remote Air 3 can also be controlled via the PD Movie Remote Air iOS app. Use the app control to set limits and marks, save lens data, and program automatic F/I/Z pulls. Remote Air 3 features include brushless, German-made motor technology, tri-motor control, and an OLED signal/battery/Bluetooth status display.
This third generation of the PD Movie system is designed for optimal operating comfort and performance. The hand unit's wheel diameter has been enlarged to accommodate its responsive 7200-point resolution, while its thickness has been reduced to under 3/4", producing a lighter, more comfortable weight. Southpaw assistants will appreciate the hand unit's left and right-hand knob-switching function.
The Remote Air 3 Dual kit includes one receiver motor, and two slave motors for focus, iris, or zoom control. The redesigned motors deliver a faster, stronger response, and are compatible with standard 0.8 Mod gear pitch cinema lenses including Angenieux, ARRI, Cooke, and Zeiss models. Bushings are provided, enabling mounting to either a single 15mm or 19mm rod.
The system employs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and full-duplex signal transmission for rapid transmission at distances up to 330 feet. Anti-interference and error correction functions minimize signal interruptions. A reworked OLED screen displays the signal channel and strength, motor voltage, and Bluetooth connection status. Available channels range from 0 to 7200, and bar graphics represent your 2nd and 3rd channels when in use (third motor available separately).
The Remote Air 3 system can be configured for 3D shoots by connecting two or more (separately available) motors on the same channel. A LEMO-type to D-Tap cable is included for powering the motor from a compatible camera battery. A hard carrying-case, lanyard, motor relay cables, USB charging cable, antennas, and wall adapter are also included.
