What is the power rating (how many amps and volts)?
Asked by: Rong
As an SSD, there is no published power rating that I know of. It will run off of your USB port (assuming USB 3.0 or better) and consumes very little power at all.

Even if I push extra hard (which I'm not comfortable doing), this WILL NOT plug into the USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. I bought this for the faster backup speed but I can't do it. Very disappointed! Why not?
Asked by: Sally
You should have received a type A plug in with this sandisk drive which would allow you to plug into any standard USB port. Put the type C plug into the type A and then put that into the USB bus. It should go in easy and the drive should then load onto your desktop. Don't force it!

It might be the first few times you connect it but you can use some force and it will connect. I have had this same experience with some USB Type C devices.

Is it difficult to plug into the USB 3.2 Gen 1 port? I don't want to force it.
Asked by: Sally
You won't have to force anything. This drive comes with a USB-C connection cable, and an adapter to connect it to a USB-A port. I don't recommend ever forcing something to connect to a port. That's now how devices work.

Anyone used this with BMPCC 6k RAW 3:1?
Asked by: Michael
For BMPCC 6K RAW I would recommend the SanDisk 2TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 BH #SAE812TB because it can read/write up to 2000 MB/s which is more suitable for that type of footage.

"SanDisk has preformatted this SSD as exFAT, meaning it is ready for immediate plug-and-play use with … High Sierra." Wouldn't it be better to reformat it for native mac OS as a APFS Volume? That has been standard practice with spinning drives.
Asked by: Greg
Yes, however exFAT would work with Windows machines as well. So it is used for the best plug and play functionality.
