CineStill Film 800Tungsten 120 Overview

CineStill 800Tungsten C-41 Color Negative Film is reformatted movie stock that has been prepared and packaged for use in still cameras. Utilizing a unique premoval stage, the traditional anti-halation rem-jet layer has been removed from this film, enabling its development in C-41 chemistry as well as the motion picture standard ECN-2 process.

Benefitting from the distinct qualities of a high-speed motion picture stock, this color negative film is balanced for tungsten, incandescent, and fluorescent light and exhibits a nominal sensitivity of ISO 800/30°. If exposing under daylight conditions, an 85B filter is recommended along with exposing the film at ISO 500 for normal results. The high film speed is ideal for working in difficult, lowlight conditions and is also well suited to push processing by up to 3 stops.

High-speed, ISO 800/30°, tungsten-balanced movie stock has been packaged and prepared for use in still cameras.
Unique premoval stage eliminates the rem-jet anti-halation layer to make it suitable for C-41 processing. Processing can also be done with ECN-2 chemistry without worrying about the rem-jet layer.
A distinct halation effect produces glowing highlights from strong light sources.
Specifically designed for use in low and difficult lighting conditions.
Emulsion has been optimized for a hybrid workflow and is ideal for scanning.
Film responds well to push processing up to ISO 3200.
Recommended ISO rating and exposure index rating for push processing:

  • ISO 800: No push; EI 200-1600
  • ISO 1250: 1-stop push; EI 800-2000
  • ISO 1600: 2-stop push; EI 1250-3200
  • ISO 3200: 3-stop push; EI 1600-3200 (with increased contrast)

I didn’t use this in the intended settings but still gorgeous photos. If you catch the light right, you can get some fun star burst effects and see through the eyes of someone with astigmatism.

Pushed two stops and exposed at 1250 produces intense color in tungsten light

I used this film with Mamiya 645 and Sekonic ...

I used this film with Mamiya 645 and Sekonic L-308X-U on a daylight, i sat my light meter to 400 ISO, am following the light meter readings and i still getting under exposed images, what u think is my problem. btw sometimes i push my film but i still not satisfied with the results. (**note** camera is in good condition)

Shooting 800t at 400 should be absolutely fine if you’re developing normally. With this film you can overexpose quite a bit and retain detail so I’d suggest metering for more of the shadows on the next roll if it still looks underexposed or post an image maybe there is something else going on with the development.

It should fit. Holga cameras mainly use 120 film.
