SureFire M600DF Scout overview

  • 1Description

Simple and practical, the black SureFire M600DF Scout Light Dual-Fuel LED Weapon Light provides the tactical professional with a single-output illumination tool that can run on two kinds of battery – the two included 123As or one rechargeable 18650. An integrated Picatinny/Weaver mount that clamps to a rail using a knurled thumbscrew makes attachment to an AR-style forend both quick and easy. A factory-focused Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens optimizes the light's throw and produces a bright, 1500-lumen beam (when using an 18650 battery) suited to both close- and long-range applications.

This configuration of the Scout Light is operated by a push-button switch on a tailcap that's shrouded to help prevent accidental activation. Press for momentary light, click for constant-on. The Scout Light's lightweight aluminum housing is anodized with a hard coat for abrasion and corrosion resistance, and gasket-sealed for weatherproof performance – making this tactical accessory ready for just about any battlefield condition.

    SureFire M600DF Scout reviews

M600DF Scout Light Dual-Fuel LED Weapon Light (Black) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yeah, it's bright Initial impressions are good, it works and seems well built. Charger and battery worked for first charge, have not needed to charge it up yet. I am realizing that 1500 lumens is bright, yet it only lets me see a bit further than a Surefire Fury at 500 Lumens. It does light up more area and can cause more backsplash, pros and cons with power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scout comparison I have 3 Surefire Scout Weapon lights. #1 is about a decade old that started out at about 60 lumen, was upgraded twice and now has a 200 lumen KX2C head. #2 is a few year old Scout Fury with a 500 lumen KE2-A head. #3 is the just released 1,500 lumen KE2-DF Duel Fuel. I do nuisance wildlife management and the 200 lumen is fine for crossbow or subsonic .22lr use at close range. The 500 lumen is good for medium range slug gun use or centerfire rifle, but just doesn't have enough juice to reach out far enough with rifle use. I have to go to an O'light M3X 1,200 lumen for long range rifle use. When the 1,500 lumen Scout was announced I jumped on it expecting to ditch the large O'light and have a small, bulletproof Surefire. Unfortunately, the Duel Fuel has a lot of "spill" or flood light but the throw reaches out no father than my existing 500 lumen Scout. It lights up a somewhat bigger area if that's what you need, but don't expect it to give you much longer range than your 500/600 lumen Scout does. Lights up a bigger area, and uses the 18650 battery are the advantages I see.
