has anyone used this on a FX9. does the autofocus work well, can the footage be stabilize in post with Catalyst Browser?
Asked by: sam
Sony E-mount lenses in general will work as well as possible on the FX9. However this is an F/1.4 lens. When an autofocus lens more opened up and the depth of field is shallower, it is more likely to hunt for focus. Also, when using a lens like this on the FX9 you are probably going to want to be on a tripod or some other support system to prevent having to stabilize in post production.

I prefer a much wider lens in the 12mm to 17mm range for overhead sky photos. The 50mm is too narrow if looking straight up.

The G Master Series is meant for the highest possible resolution while the Sony Zeiss series is meant for higher contrast. Either way, you cannot go wrong.

In manual focus mode, how many degrees of rotation does it take the focus ring to move from the lens from minimum focus distance to infinity?
Asked by: Ben
It is roughly 90 degrees to rotate from minimum focus to infinity. Is you are planning to use this lens for video, a cinema lens such as this Rokinon DS would allow more precise control of the focus: https://bhpho.to/2O3EGKc

question

The AF on my lens is way off. Manually focusing the produces very sharp image by comparison. I am using it in a Sony A7R II but the camera says micro adjust not available with this lens. Any suggestions? is it true that I can't make an AF micro adjustment to correct this issue?
Asked by: scott
This is an Auto Focus lens that should work very well with the Auto Focus System on the A7RII. If you are having issues with the auto focus please email us at [email protected] so we can help guide you in the right direction for additional assistance.

We rented this lens for two shoots - video, but also for portraits. Lens bokeh is terrific. However, we had a number of weird problems with autofocus using the A7s. Is this a software issue? I have read that there is a big firmware upgrade coming soon.
Asked by: Paul
This lens is very sharp , sometimes you need to micro adjust lens to your camera body
