    Optoma Technology HD143X reviews

HD143X Full HD DLP Home Theater Projector is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfectq we got it for mobile use (vs. home theater) as we like to move between garage, basement, deck, etc. It provides an amazing bright picture and a built in speaker which works great for kids shows, sports, etc. I prefer better sound to watch feature films which is easy by hooking up a sound bar. I am a tad sensitive to the rainbow effect in dark scenes but i knew that going in so not a knock for me as it doesn't really take away from the experience. Overall great projector for low light and dark settings.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great projector except for overshoot. First of all B&H Photo rocks! The projector has an excellent picture and color rendition. There is nothing on the market that comes even close at its price point and even higher. However, is the projector has an over splash of light past the video image. At the edge of the screen is a cast of light that extends past the video image by about 10 inches. it's like another raster line surrounding the actual video. my walls were light colored so I have taken some duvetine and made a screen surround that pretty much absorbs most of it. because of the price point, the duvetine making it an acceptable viewing experience and the super picture I decided to keep the projector instead of returning it. I called Optoma and although there have been a number of reviews and have mentioned this on other sites they seem to be unaware of the issue. in a review on Amazon an Optoma response was that it's the nature of this chip to do that. it's my hope that they at some point provide a firmware upgrade that will fix this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bang for Buck! I finally got this installed/mounted and set up. Work great. The image is sharp. Sure its not 4k but most stuff isn't filmed in 4k at this point. The one complaint I have is in regards to the ability to make the image larger or smaller. I had to take out a light fixture and set it about 14 ft back from the wall for a 115" screen. Its great, just keep in mind that with any projector.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from good product; but ceiling mounting design is bad a beautiful machine; works well. But, when ceiling mounting, the machine is tilted to one side because the center of the 3 holes is not on the the center of the machine. This unbalanced ceiling mounting design make this machine unusable for home theater, unfortunately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Projector, ceiling mounting is tricky Very happy with picture and quality for the price... Only issue I've had is trying to mount it from the ceiling. Very small hole pattern
