Techart PRO 6900527095463 overview

  • 1Description

Make the most of all your existing Canon EF-mount glass with your medium-format Fujifilm G-series camera with this Autofocus Adapter from Techart PRO. Equipped with electronic contacts, this adapter enables communication between your camera and lens, enabling functions such as autofocus and auto exposure, as well as image stabilization. Most important, it allows you to control the aperture from the camera body and it will also transfer Exif data to the camera. The adapter is powered by the camera body and it features aluminum construction with brass bayonet mounts for durability and ease of use. Additionally, it features a micro-USB port for future firmware updates.

Enables the use of Canon EF-mount lenses of Fujifilm G-mount cameras. Supports various Canon and Sigma lenses and has limited compatibility with Tamron lenses. Also, certain lenses may not cover the entire frame of a medium-format Fujifilm G-mount camera, and as such vignetting may occur.
Manual focus is supported with this adapter, as well as image stabilization.
Auto exposure and electronic aperture control are possible when this adapter is used.
Lens Exif data can be transferred to the camera.
A micro-USB port allows the installation of firmware updates to improve performance in the future.

Canon EF Lens to Fujifilm G-Mount Camera Autofocus Adapter is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Customer Support, Terrible QA, Broke after a few da Terrible Customer Support I requested updates early when I ordered my adapter via the website and they never got back to me. When I finally got it, it stopped working after a few days. I tried to contact customer support via their website with no luck. Tried emailing them directly, nothing. Then I directly messaged them on Facebook and they at least responded to me by telling me to update my firmware. I'm a technie I had already tried that. When I told them my computer wasn't recognizing the device they told me I had to use Windows 10. I was using windows 10 and told them that. They never responded again. I kept messaging them and now they ignore me. This is a really expensive adapter and it worked for a few days. Now it doesn't even work as a dumb adapter because when it's connected to my camera it blacks it out for some reason and the camera won't take a photo.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No auto-aperture, slow focus First off, I was super excited to get this adapter for my GFX, and of course use all my sigma and canon L glass. *however* even after updating the firmware, I am unable to figure out how to get auto-aperture. If I set my iso and shutter, I'd like it to auto set the aperture on the lens. Seems impossible (all the Fuji lenses have an aperture ring with an 'A' for auto ... so maybe this isn't actually possible at all on the GFX?). I'm not sure, but I'm extra disappointed that their customer support hasn't replied in over two weeks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy and Operates Well I've been using the Techart on my GFX for my Canon TS-E lenses for over two weeks now. It's a sturdy metal design and I don't experience any slop in the camera or lens mount, everything has been secure on the six shoots I've taken it on. My only criticisms would include how the latest firmware update requires a PC to extract and run an .exe file - not great compatibility with Mac OS. Also, as a point of balance, it would've been great if there was a similar design like that of the Metabones with a tripod foot. I believe an excellent solution would be to find a third-party tripod collar that fits it well - thus allowing for the lens movements (keeping parallax correct for shifts - and finding a balancing point between the weight of the GFX and the Canon TS-E glass. I'm still searching for such a tripod collar - and will update if I find something useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Techart Delivers High Quality Native AF speed This adapter was optimized for all of the sigma Art line of lenses, and I have not have problems with any of the L lenses I tried. One of my favorite lenses that does not experience a great amount of aberration is the 135 1.8 and the 50 art. The others show the distortion around the edges as these lenses were made for full-frame, and not Cropped MF. The manufacturer has included an update port, and has already made a couple of improvements through firmware updates, like more compatibility with tamron lenses (at launch it would not recognize tamrons at all), and Improved start up time when turned on and engaging the lens. The adapter uses the camera's battery so unlike some of the other adapters it doesn't require a power source. Great build - metal, and feels like the sigma art lens finish. Lens feels secure on the adapter, and did not bind or get stuck and I have been using this for about 6 months aggressively. It has its quirks, I have seen some complain about theirs being too tight or non-functioning on arrival, but BH only provides quality products and adds that level of credibility to an overseas manufacturer/distributor. Highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Guess how this works The Techart adapter works well right out of the box. However not a shred of instructions. I have used it on a new Canon TS-E 50mm. Well pleased, would not have a clue what to do if it didn't. It has a button which I won't touch because I don't know what it does. Website not much help either. With instructions, it would have gotten 5 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good - not great Unfortunately about 30% of the time the adapter does not achieve accurate focus lock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with Canon L glass however.... Autofocus works well with most of my Canon L lenses but be aware some lenses will provide vignetting to the point where it might be usable. I tried some other brands and they didn't work at all and had to be returned. Highly recommend this lens adapter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expensive and use is limited Works as stated, I own 6 canon lenses, on the fisheye it's somewhat useless, 17-40 good after 24 otherwise vignetting, 24-105 somewhat useless due to strong vignetting, 70-200 good after anout 100 mm and 100-400 haven't used yet.
