The TFA-01 Ultra Pocket Pod with BPC-16 Microball Package from Really Right Stuff is an ideal combination of a lightweight and portable tabletop tripod and the Arca-type compatible BPC-16 Microball head.
The Pocket Pod from Really Right Stuff is a 5.1 oz support that folds down to 6" inches in length to fit in just about any bag. Made of aluminum and stainless steel, the Pocket Pod can be used as a monopod with its legs together or as a tripod with a maximum height of 6" with its legs partially splayed where it can support up to 15 lb. A 1/8" hex key is provided to adjust the leg tension. It's at its default setting of 1.7" with the legs fully splayed however, that it's a real performer. Used this way it's a suitable choice for mirrorless cameras or DSLRs with 70-200mm f/2.8 and 300mm f/4 equivalent telephotos. The Pocket Pod is compatible with several Really Right Stuff ball heads and comes with a 3/8"-16 adapter to accommodate them.
The BPC-16 Microball with Panning from Really Right Stuff is a 4.4 oz compact and portable ball head that has a 5 lb weight capacity, which makes it suitable for small DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, or other small accessories used for photographic or video use. Moreover, the integrated screw knob locks the Arca-type compatible clamp down while the second locking wheel, which surrounds the first knob, enables the head to rotate a full 360°. Meanwhile, at the top of the stem, the quick release lever disengages to allow movement on the ball, and the cut notch at the bottom of the head allows it to be placed at a 90° angle.
The 2" tall Microball is constructed using 6061-T6 aluminum with steel components. Both metals have a durable finish. Namely, the aluminum has a type II black anodized finish while the steel components are ferritic nitrocarburized, which protect the surfaces from scuffs and oxidation. At the bottom of the stem, a 1/4"-20 female threaded mount is available.
