The Mackie MTest-1 is a cable tester designed to provide pin-to-pin troubleshooting of multiple connection types for musicians, stage crews, and audio engineers in live stage applications and home, project, and mobile-recording studios. It features XLR 3-pin, speakON, RCA/phono, MIDI, banana/continuity, 3.5mm TRS, and 1/4" TRS/TS jacks and includes probes for testing other connectors and bare wire.
Its 6-way switch offers a straightforward way to check battery status and the continuity of each pin. The MTest-1 is sturdily constructed with heavy-gauge steel for dependable use on tour or in the studio. Being powered by a single 9V battery, it requires no additional power supply.

Some speaker cables have a banana plug on one end and a TS connector on the other. Are the banana connections on this tester able to accept this type of connector so you can test this type of speaker cable?
The banana plug inputs on the unit are specifically made to connect the included probes, which can then be used to test continuity with any type of cable connector.

Yes. The Mackie MTest-1 detects which inputs you are using and matches the pins to be able to test cables with different connectors on each end.
