I was dummy enough to not knowing you have to successfully close the battery door in order to use the dummy battery. I even requested a refund lol and didn’t notice the little sticker on the adapter. This item is perfect especially I own two 95 v mount batteries. I can now shoot all day.

Doesn't have the Canon Emulation chip

I bought this to use while taking deep sky shots (so I don't have to continuously change batteries). In that capacity, it seems to work as advertised. HOWEVER, when you first power on the camera (I have a Canon SL3) and EVERY TIME you hook it to power, you have to answer a couple questions... No, this is NOT a Canon branded battery., and YES, I still want to use it!. I bought a different brand of adapter for my 5DS and I don't get asked these questions. A little perturbed about this but, yeah, I can get around it and make the system work - just really wish they would've done the job right when they built this.
