Manfrotto Skylite Rapid Overview

The 10 x 10' Skylite Rapid Extra Large Kit from Manfrotto is built around a lightweight but sturdy 10 x 10' aluminum alloy frame that accepts the kit's included 1.25 stop diffuser.

Quick change fabrics clip onto the frame with a small gap between the frame and border that serves as a vent for stability in windy locations. The translucent fabric can be used as an overhead scrim to tame harsh sunlight or as a diffuser for a large light source, like a Fresnel. Optional fabrics are available, as are grip heads, floor brackets, and crossbar handles.

Worse clamps ever

I bought this a while ago and the first one I received was already broken. Some of the plastic clamps snapped before I even open it. I returned to B&H and they sent me one more. Be advised that this is not fun if you are living in Canada, the duties will have to be paid once more when you receive the replacement and good luck trying to get a hold on the government to refund them. I almost never use it and this week, I set it up for products photography. While taking down the setup, 2 of the clamps broke, once again. It's infuriating that they design it is such a cheap way considering the price you pay for it.

Ultra light weight despite being massive at 10' square. I was getting some really beautiful diffused light at my last shoot from this Skylite. Dig it!

Does the frame have an inner cord for assembly, or all individual pieces? Asking to see about simplicity and speed of assembly

The Manfrotto Skylite Rapid Extra Large Kit (10 x 10') has an elastic cord that runs through the frame keeping it in one piece.

The Lastolite Skylite Rapid Extra Large is translucent so the color of what ever is behind the screen will influence the color of the screen.

The Lastolite Joe McNally Skylite Rapid with masks comes in a Lastolite box that is around Ln: 10.00 Wd: 5.51 Ht: .32 inches. But that is put in to a larger box once shipped from B&H. That size depends on many variables from the shipping department and cannot be obtained because of that.
