Styled in black, the Ibanez RG Series RGMS7 is a seven-string electric guitar with a nyatoh body and sleek, double-cutaway design. The guitar's five-piece, Wizard III-7 neck is fashioned out of maple and walnut, with a scale measuring 25.5 to 27.0". This multi-scale design accommodates the different hand positions guitarists naturally assume when moving around the neck, resulting in a more comfortable experience. Also, its ultimate 27" scale improves the tone of typical metal down-tuning, ensuring a thicker, richer timbre than a shorter scale.
The instrument's jatoba fingerboard features 24 jumbo frets as well as white off-set dot inlays that switch positions after the 12th fret. This makes for a striking, esoteric look.
For electronics, the RGMS7 offers two Array-7 MS humbucking pickups, one in the neck and the other in the bridge. A volume knob dictates the overall level, a tone knob controls your timbre, and a five-position pickup selector switches between different pickup configurations, including series and parallel wirings. Strings are affixed to the body by means of the fixed Mono-rail bridge, which isolates each string's vibration and fosters a precise sound.
