Sticky, poor tightening Design

The grips feel sticky right out of the box. Furthermore, the hex key tightening tool needs to be turned an ungodly amount to have any sort of stiffness or rigidity. I have since swapped these out for some superior SmallRig handles. The neck strap is fine.

Cheaply made and designed

The grips are made from cheap frayed rubber, and are secured to the posts by a bolt that protrudes from the middle of the grip (you know, the place where your hand goes...). Plus, the bolt is starting to strip within 2 days of normal use. I'd pay $40 tops for this. Near $150, though? You've gotta be kidding me. I waste a lot of money on trash accessories for my rigs, but this takes the cake.

Expensive for poor design

I have both the SmallHD 702 Touch and the Teradek RX back plate. Both of those products seem very well designed and built. These handles however feel cheaply made, poorly designed, and thus...overpriced. Currently the only way to adjust the tilt of a grip is to get out an allen key, loosen the rear bolt, then re-tighten it in a new position. If for some reason that bolt isn't tight then the entire grip can easily slide off which I can foresee leading to the entire monitor falling. For $182 I would expect a much more robust, secure, and easy to use handle.

Easy to install, worked on my Small HD CIne 7, only thing I will like is that the handles will unscrew in a faster way, when I want to use the Cine 7 as an on camera Monitor.

Great grip but it would be great if you could easily disconnect the grips them from the screen. Now you need tools to get them of. Therefore I created my own case. See picture. Pelican 1490

Does the job, with caveats

Using on a Small HD 702 and a Paralinx receiver, and does the job. Definitely makes it look more 'professional' - especially when handing it to a client to monitor. Unfortunately it is quite easy for the handles to 'slip' due to the design and constantly require tightening. Also, you will need to carry 2 allen keys to take handles off if you move from an on-camera monitor to director's monitor - which isn't a great user-friendly experience, but not an issue if that's hardly ever done. In all I'd rate it a 'B' - which is a pass, but with some more homework could've been better. I'd still buy it again so that's the real acid test.

Only compatible with SmallHd cages. Smallhd decided to do not use standard sizes of the safety pins, so you can only these handles locking them directly to the monitor or to smallhd cages (in the case it exists for you monitor). B&H doesn't give this info in the description and you will have to pay for the return shipping label if it doesn't work for you.
