Available for download, Sonible’s entropy:EQ+ is software that homes in on the frequency of transients found within a selected audio source and allows you to emphasize, refine, or mitigate their percussive qualities. The software can be used in broadband mode, boosting or attenuating percussive elements across the frequency spectrum, or it can be used in a more frequency-dependent manner with the eight bands provided.
You can use the software in musical applications, such as emphasizing the attack of a tom hit, or in post-production, where it can improve speech intelligibility. On a harmonic instrument, such as piano or guitar, you can use entropy:EQ+ to bring out the groove of a rhythmic part or emphasize its harmonic content when percussive elements are clashing with the drums.
This software also functions as an eight-band linear phase EQ. With each band, you can select whether or not it reacts in a dynamic way to the frequency selected or if it behaves as a static, traditional linear phase EQ. Controls for smoothing and strength allow you to fine-tune the process to best suit your needs.
This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms and can run in AU, VST2, VST3, and AAX formats. Authorization can be achieved on your machine or with a Pace iLok.
