Elektron Digitone Eight-Voice Digital FM Synthesizer and Sequencer

The Elektron Digitone is a compact FM synthesizer with an integrated 8-voice sound engine, a live-performance-friendly sequencer, the means to control outboard MIDI equipment, and full Overbridge support, which allows for full integration with DAW environments, including a dedicated VST/AU plug-in interface. The unit is designed for heavy use and features high-resolution encoders, durable backlit buttons (rated for 50 million presses), and a crisp OLED screen for a clear and streamlined user interface.

The Digitone leverages the powerful sound design capabilities of FM synthesis and combines it with traditional subtractive methods to create a powerful and easy-to-use FM synthesizer with modulation options such as pitch bend, breath control, velocity, and aftertouch. Each synth track offers four operators per track with eight different algorithms, followed by an overdrive effect, a base-width filter, multimode filter, and amp, along with two assignable LFOs

Each track also features an arpeggiator, while the sequencer provides advanced features, such as polyphonic sequencing, individual track lengths, micro-timing, trig conditions, and "sound per step" change. Additionally, there are dedicated Panoramic Chorus, Saturator Delay, and Supervoid Reverb send effects, as well as an overdrive master effect.

The Digitone features a pair of 1/4" outputs and a pair of 1/4" inputs, which allow you to route external sounds through the machine and apply send effects. Like all other performance machines by Elektron, the Digitone offers parameter locks, which allow any sound-shaping function to be sequenced to any point on the sequencer; this results in powerful effects that are accurately timed. What's more, any parameters that have been adjusted can be undone at the press of a button.

Overbridge is a software extension that allows for the use of Elektron's analog hardware as a plug-in within a DAW. You can design sounds on-screen using an intuitive and dedicated plug-in, use the knobs and keys on the Digitone instrument, or do both at the same time. Overbridge lets you enjoy precise synchronization and automation while using the strengths of the Elektron sequencer and your software sequencer to get the best of both worlds.
