Ibanez AZ224F Overview

Styled in a blue iceberg gradation finish, the Ibanez Premium Series AZ22F is an electric guitar fashioned out of flamed maple and American basswood. Its neck, which offers a 25.5" scale, is crafted out of roasted maple, offering a roasted maple fingerboard with 22 stainless-steel jumbo frets. Strings are anchored to the body by a Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge, while the headstock makes use of Gotoh MAGNUM LOCK machine heads.

For electronics, this guitar employs two Seymour Duncan Hyperion single coil pickups and one Hyperion humbucker. These feature a moderate output to preserve the clarity of your tone, even when you're playing through heaps of distortion. They also help you retain the definition of your pick attack, though not at the expense of tonal balance.

The guitar gives you a 5-way pickup selector switch, but two different pickup configurations are available through the Alter mini-switch. This gives you effectively nine different guitar tones, some single-coil focused, and other more humbucker in sound. Volume and tone knobs are also on hand to shape your timbre.

AZ Roasted Maple Neck
Heat-treatment increases the wood's stability, durability, water resistance, and tolerance of temperature changes.
Roasted Maple Fingerboard with Black Dot Inlays
Heat treatment provides a well-balanced attack as well as a bolstered tone and a rich sustain. In order to achieve supreme neck grip comfort, the fingerboard edge is finished with a smooth curve.
Super All Access Neck Joint
The Super All Access Neck Joint offers eminent playability with its 8mm concave curve from the top of the body to the spherical surface of the joint. By maximizing the joint area between the body and the neck, sustain and resonance are increased as well.
Luminescent Side Dot Inlay
The luminescent side dot position marks make it easy for players to see fingerboard position marks when performing on dark stages.
Gotoh Magnum Lock Machine Heads with Height-Adjustable Posts
The AZ comes with Gotoh MAGNUM LOCK machine heads, which have an established reputation for tuning stability. Its H.A.P. (height adjustable post) system allows for the adjustment of string posts for the appropriate tension of each string.
Graph Tech TUSQ XL Nut and Stainless-Steel Frets
The smooth Graph Tech nut increases tuning stability, and bolsters the sustain and clarity of sound. Stainless-steel frets foster corrosion resistance. The wide and tall fret-type offers a quick response, good articulation when playing chords, and a clear tone when playing single notes.
Ergonomic Body Back Contour
A shallow body back contour and a big forearm contour allow the guitar to fit the player naturally, thus increasing playing comfort. The AZ body has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve, making it easier to play in both standing and sitting positions.
Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups
Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups feature a moderate output through Alnico 5 magnets to preserve the clarity of the fundamental tone when using a distortion sound. These pickups also deliver a clear pick attack. From treble to bass, the overall tonal balance is evenly adjusted, and works well with various effect pedals.
dyna-MIX 9 Switching System with Alter Switch
dyna-MIX 9 offers nine sound variations and can easily switched between humbucker and single coil modes with just the mini-switch. One mode is even able to simulate a humbucker sound from the combination of the 2 single coil pickups.
Gotoh T1502 Synchronized Bridge
The T1502 tremolo bridge features steel saddles and a die-cast zinc tremolo block for a quick response and improved articulation. The 10.5mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings. Its snap-in construction makes it easy to load a tremolo arm.
