FEISOL TT-15B Overview

The TT-15B Mini Tripod and Ball Head from FEISOL is a 1-section support with a maximum height of 8.1" and a load capacity of 18 lb, which makes it suitable for mirrorless up to mid-sized DSLR cameras. The 14.1 oz tripod includes the Arca-type compatible ball head, which has a single-locking knob that controls the panning and ball movement.

The tripod's metal parts have been CNC milled from a single block of aluminum and anodized for durability. The legs are constructed from carbon fiber, and rubber feet prevent the tripod from sliding on smooth surfaces. Furthermore, variable leg angles of 25, 50, and 75° provide a minimum height of 4.7", but the legs can completely splay out for the lowest possible shooting angle.

FEISOL TT-15B Reviews

Great mini tripod

Made just as well as its bigger brothers. Excellent strudy quality, and a good range of adjustment. Also comes with integral ball mount and clamp. Good for heavy cameras and lenses. I am very satisfied.

Solid base for ICOM IC-705 transceiver, as well as for DSLR

This is a light, sturdy, well-made tripod that will serve well for supporting DSLR cameras and the popular new ICOM IC-705 amateur radio transceiver. It does not have a notch which is not a big issue on a small tripod, as the camera tends to topple when pointing down on tripods with the notch, unless counter-weighted, but it would make it more compact for packing if it had the notch. The carbon fiber legs lock in three different heights. The lower knob is easy to adjust and gives a non-slip hold on the ball. The upper knob is best pointed away from the operator and adjusts to securely fit the Arca-type mount on my Canon's cage bracket. I haven't found any better small tripod for these purposes. As noted in the Q&A section, you don't need to purchase the extra $20 FEISOL plate, the one that comes with the tripod is better designed.

If i have an L Plate that is Arca Compatible do i still need to buy a quick release plate?
Asked by: Joey
The L-Plate works like an Arca-Swiss style Quick Release Plate, so you will not need an additional plate.

question

What is difference between TT-15B vs. TT-15 Mark II with CB-30D ball head. They look similar to me in terms of load capacity, but TT-15B seems quite cheaper?
Asked by: Tushar
The TT-15B has an integrated, non-removable ball head which is a simplified version of the CB-30D - it has no Panning Base or Friction Adjustment. The TT-15 M2 comes without a ball head - the CB-30D is an excellent companion ball head for it, but the TT-15 M2 can also be used without a ball head altogether.

question

Does this come with a quick release plate? If not what can you recommend?
Asked by: Jose R Zaldarriaga
The QP-144750 Quick Release Plate is well designed and has bidirectional slots and a lock button that make the mounting/unmounting more secure. The description is misleading where it says "Quick Release Systems not included," so I thought that I needed to add the QP-40 Quick Release Plate at $19.95 which is not as well designed as the included plate. You can compare the two plates if you search the Quick Release Systems accessories for this tripod and order extra QP-144750 plate(s) if you want.

question

Is there a notch in the ball head of the Feisol TT-15B that would allow to quickly change between portrait and landscape orienration? Also is the ball head compatible with the Peak Design plate?
Asked by: Nicole
Sorry, the TT-15B does not have a notch. If this is an important feature for you, I recommend that you use the TT-15 with the CB-30D ball head which does have a notch and which the ball head of the TT-15B is based on.We do not have any personal experience with the Peak Design plate and have not received any customer feedback about it - generally speaking, most Arca-Swiss type plates are compatible.

question

Can the ball head be removed or is it permanently attached?
Asked by: Brian R.
On the TT-15B model, the ball head cannot be removed. If you want to be able to remove it, I recommend the regular TT-15 with the CB-30D ball head - this is basically what you are looking for.
