If you need 3, by all means get it, but the size is referring to the clamp opening. 2 is likely enough for you. I would suggest there should be a picture of a person holding it like by BH #IMSSCA20B, so you have an easier reference.
Great clamp, They just need to figure out how to keep the rubber ends on. They slip off too easy. I do not want to damage my backdrops with the bare metal edge.
