Sigma 14mm T2 Fully Luminous FF High-Speed Prime (Sony E-Mount, Feet)
Key Features
  • Covers Full-Frame Sensor Size
  • Sony E-Mount
  • Luminescent Lens Markings
  • T2 to T16 Aperture Range
Sigma's FF High Speed Prime Lenses combine the same high-quality optics and mechanics of their Global Vision still line in a cine-oriented design. This 14mm Sony E-Mount prime is the widest focal length of the series, offering full-frame sensor coverage, 6-8K resolution, and a T2 aperture in a relatively lightweight form; it is also available in Canon EF and PL mounts. What sets these lenses apart from the standard Sigma High Speed Primes is fully luminescent markings. When shooting in dim or dark environments, focus pullers and camera operators can easily discern lens markings without the use of a possibly distracting lens light. A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line make it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors.

question

With this lens if I place it on my Red camera in a water housing can i purchase a screw in ND Filter? Or something can be clapped on the front?
Asked by: tim
When using the Sigma 14mm T2 FF High-Speed Prime (EF Mount) you would need to use a dome port. So you would not be able to use a screw in ND Filter or use a clamp. You could get a ND gel filter and place it inside the dome.

Love this lens but the ARRI LMB 4x5 mattebox 95mm ...

Love this lens but the ARRI LMB 4x5 mattebox 95mm clamp on adapter ring doesn’t cover the gaps on left and right side. In other words, because the lens hood has the cut outs on the left and right side of the lens, the mattebox adapter ring isn’t deep enough to cover those gaps. So, you have to tape the openings each time you use this lens. Or, is there a better solution? A deeper adapter ring? It needs to remain at 95mm so that it’s easy to swap lenses.

So, the solution was to get one of these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1425861-REG/sigma_ac5900_clamp_on_ring_162mm_cor_11.html And then also get one of these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1367819-REG/arri_k2_0015075_lmb_4x5_clamp_adapter.html But! it doens't work on the three stage matte box so you have to remove the third stage and then attach it. So, you have to decide whether it's worth it or if you just continue to apply gaffer tape each time. ;-)
