StarBase Retractable Stand Base

Will this safely support an AEA R44C mic (nearly 8lbs.) at full extension?

The Triad-Orbit Starbird SB-1 Studio Boom Stand has a recommended maximum weight capacity of 10 kg/22 lbs and should accommodate an 8 pound microphone apparatus nicely with its VariBal Counter Ballast System.
