question
Does this lens have focus breathing? Has anyone tested specifically for it?
Tony and Chelsea Northrup tested this lens against a bunch of other similar lenses, and concluded there was NO focus breathing, iirc. The lens was judged equal to the other lenses they tested, and better than some of the "big names". Even tho I have the Nikon AF S 70-300 4.5-5.6 lens, and like it very much, I am almost ready to buy this one.

How about the autofocus speed and accuracy? I'm a boxing and MMA shooter and concerned about AF speed.
This Tamron f/4 zoom is slower to focus than a Nikon f/4 70-200 and also slower than any f/2.8 lens. It might be acceptable for fast action indoors on a D500, since you can leave it on f/4 and get up to 10 FPS on continuous high. It would not be my choice for the type of photography you are doing.
