The f/2 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult and low lighting conditions.
Three super-low dispersion elements help to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color accuracy.
Two all-glass precision molded aspherical elements suppress spherical aberrations to minimize distortion and improve overall sharpness.
Multi-layered coating helps to alleviate lens flare and ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions.
Ring-shaped ultrasonic autofocus motor, along with a GMR sensor, affords quick, quiet, and responsive AF performance along with full-time manual focus override.
Internal contacts relay distance and aperture information to the camera body to enable full support of in-camera focusing aids.
Nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Tokina FiRIN 20mm f/2 AF Reviews

Excellent value and tack sharp at f2

Using for landscapes and architectural. Find the distortion minimal, the sharpness even at f2 is excellent. Not very heavy considering the f2 and good feel to the build. No switches or buttons on the lens, but the instant availability of manual override with a wide width focus barrel is very welcome. (Note while the manual states to use Auto AF to enable the manual fine tune, on a Sony A7 series, set to DAF for this to function on demand. )

Excellent Lens

I purchased this lens switching from a Sigma 24mm F1.4 ART and I love the size and weight of this Tokina. The only complaint would be AF motor noise but I already knew that. I wouldn't recommend this lens for video unless you have off camera mic. I loved everything else on this lens from the build quality to image quality.

Is this the same optical design as the manual focus version or did they make any improvements?
Asked by: Guy
The manual focus Tokina FiRIN 20mm f/2 FE MF and the autofocus version, the Tokina FiRIN 20mm f/2 FE AF, are optically identical. The obvious difference is in the body. I would say that the AF version can't be beat in its price range.

How smooth is the focus ring compared to the all manual focus FiRIN 20mm?
Asked by: Joshua
The Tokina FiRIN 20mm f/2 FE AF is smooth, but not as smooth as the Tokina FiRIN 20mm f/2 FE M. This is because the Tokina FiRIN 20mm f/2 FE MF is a full manual lens.
