  • 1Description

Add a level of control and professionalism to your photographic endeavors with a 5 x 6.5', Pink/Gray Pop-Up Background Kit from Studio Essentials. When confronted with a busy or unsightly photo location, it's great to have the option of shooting with your own background. The collapsible background has a steel spring sewn into the perimeter that holds the fabric tight when open, and collapses to 27.5 x 27.5 x 3.0" when folded. Easy to set up, the background has touch fasteners for hanging vertically or horizontally, and is easily hung with the included 7'6" stand and reflector clip. When not in use, the background may be stored in the included carry bag.

Eliminate wrinkles with a hand steamer. Do not iron. All Studio Essentials Pop-Up backgrounds should be gently wiped down with a wet rag should they need cleaning. Using detergents or other cleaners will damage the background. Muslin backgrounds are hand-dyed—patterns will vary.

    Studio Essentials PB103K Reviews

    Pop-Up Background Kit (5 x 6.5', Pink/Gray) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hard to handle The actual background is fine, black is black and white is white. ?Getting the background into the little clip on the top of the stand is way harder than seems necessary. Opening the clip to allow the frame in is challenging, I was able to do it once or twice, but other times I find I'm just leaning the background against the stand, not wanting to waste time and effort. Also, the packing it back up to fit in the bag is very challenging. Watched many You Tube videos...maybe spent an hour before I finally find one that worked. ?The kit did not come with any instructions how to get it back into the case. Seems like something they should include.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice!! This is very cool looking. Ive never owned a pop up background before, so its pretty tricky getting it set up, & doubly so to get it back in its carry bag. The material is very sheer, so only time will tell just how well it holds up...fingers crossed! Since this was a special order, the only thing I wasnt thrilled with was waiting over 2 months for it to finally arrive. Both sides look really good! BTW, open this where you have lots of space. In a small room with little experience, you can level the place in 1 second flat!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oof! Please read (and see picture). This backdrop, at least the one I got, was devoid of color and texture. Also, its very thin, so youll need to set up a black show card behind it or youll see right through it. Not recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some pros and cons Easy to set up and easier to put away than you would think.  I was disappointed that you can see through the backdrop to the pole behind it.  Ive got a sheet I can clip onto it, but thats a problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Bad Product... Item does not look at all like it is pictured. Has a dark stain like spot in the middle and the rest looks like a grey chalkboard. Very unhappy with purchase and will be returning it immediately!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeatable price! I picked this up (along with the black/white version) for school portraits. Works perfectly! Can't beat the price. Much easier to set up than my normal cloth backgrounds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent value for the money! I needed a portable background, but my budget didnt allow me to spend much.  In my research, I came across this kit.  I was hesitant at first after reading the reviews, but I decided to give it a try anyway.  I was very skeptical when I got it out of the box for just as some people wrote, the material is thin - you can see through the backdrop to the pole behind it; it also is a bit wonky - if you were to lay it on the floor, it doesnt lay flat.  I decided to give it a test using my mannequin before making any final decisions on it, and Im glad I did - I am sold and will be keeping it.  Yes, it is thin, but I found it was not a problem.  I set it up in front of a window in my studio (about 1 1/2 feet from it) and raised the blind just to give it a real test.  As you can see from my pics, you not only cannot see the pole of the stand that is holding it up (btw, the stand itself is worth the money), but there is also no evidence of the window behind it.  (The window you see in the wide angle of my studio is the same size of the one behind the backdrop, but, again, I opened the shade.)  I tested at 85mm on out to 120mm to see how much room I have to play with as far as how much of a single subject I can photo and how many people I might be able to put in front of it.  As you can see, you can easily get a 3/4 shot when set longways vertically.  You could also get at least two people when horizontal, and I bet probably even 3 or 4 if it is a close-knit family.  Obviously, you would not want to light the backdrop as I suppose (but did not test) you would be able to clearly see the pole.  But, as you see, using a rim light works great.  The only reason I did not give this a 5 star is Im not sure how well it will hold up over time; I have no real reason to think it wont if cared for, but I am not sure. **I wanted to upload several images to show my test results, but I was limited to 2. =/
