Matthews Hollywood Head Overview
Matthews Hollywood Head Reviews
Built Like and Tank
I wanted a decent grip head and grip extension arm just to hold a small scrim, perhaps a small LED light or strobe. Instead of going with lesser quality, I took advice from the many wise people here who add their comments about equipment. I went with this Matthews grip head and a Kupo grip arm. The Matthews grip head is solidly built. The handles are smooth and it grips well. Anything I am currently using will be solidly held. Honestly, some Matthews products do not cost that much more than lesser quality equipment. There aren't too many things more important than properly holding your expensive equipment. For that, I think most people should at least give a serious look to Matthews (and Kupo) for gripping equipment.
Very strong grip head
I tend to gravitate towards Mathews Studio Equipment as an owner/op because everything they make is durable enough to last for several years/decades on working sets, it's affordable, and their gear is readily available to purchase unlike a lot of American Grip gear, which can have pretty crazy lead times. No complaints with this grip head, this finish is more durable than the black powder coated version of the same head, which I also own several of.
