Cokin Dream filters, available in three different strengths (#'s 091, 092, 093), create halos around the highlights. The effect will vary in intensity depending on the filter chosen with #093 having the greatest effect. This phenomenon becomes particularly clear when light subjects are set against a dark background, i.e., a bright bunch of white flowers set against dark curtains or streetlights against an evening sky. The advantage of this type of diffusion is that even though the effect creates a soft blending of highlights, the image remains sharp. It is recommended that you do not stop the aperture down too far. Otherwise, you will see only a double contour rather than a dreamy, romantic halo. With this filter technique, bracketing of exposures is also recommended, particularly if the subject is backlit.
This filter measures 66 x 72mm and fits the Cokin A series holder.
