The Prompter People Flex Plus 19" Teleprompter features a 19" 400 cd/m² reversing monitor, 60/40 beamsplitter glass, and a 23' reading range. The teleprompter supports nearly any camcorder, ranging from DSLR to ENG. The teleprompter comes with an aluminum extrusion frame which enables mounting the camera on the prompter without requiring counterweights. The 60/40 glass does not have to be removed when folding the hood for transport or storage. You can mount the camera on the prompter and mount that setup on your tripod in a traditional manner or, with an optional FreeStanding kit, you can mount your camera on your tripod and separately mount the prompter on a stand in front of your camera. An included adjustable camera riser enables 3" of vertical adjustment of your camera.

How is the brightness of the 400 nit version? Is it legible outside in sun? Are you happy you bought the 1000 nit, if you did so?
Your use-case/scenario will usually dictate if 400 nits are enough, but generally speaking 400 nits isn't that bright. As a test, if you have a newer smartphone, those typically go up to approximately 700~900 nits. If you are satisfied with its brightness at around 50%, you might be able to get away with the 400 nit model.

How heavy is this kit?
This is a fairly heavy setup. We had a Black Magic Production Camera 4k rigged with the prompter on a Manfrotto 516 head and it caused a lot of movement. I'm very pleased with the prompter overall - I purchased another option first and had to return it.. Prompter People worked very well but the camera movement is limited unless you have a really have support rig to keep it from bouncing on the moves.
