The downloaded V76-Pre and License from Arturia is an emulation of the classic Telefunken V76 preamp incorporated in the REDD mixing console at Abbey Road studio coveted for the 1968 Beatles White Album sound. This plug-in can be used by producers, sound engineers, and artists on Mac and Windows computers, to capture a taste of that harmonically rich, classic tone in your DAW and music programs.
The V76-Pre's equalizer is modeled on a modified Telefunken V612, giving you access to a musically-placed high shelf and low shelf. The main control of the preamp lets you increase the strength of the incoming signal, passing it through the virtual circuitry and vacuum tube. It starts to get more of its tonal flavor the hotter the signal gets, delivering a harmonically rich soft-clipping.
Furthermore, the high-pass lets you remove low bass frequencies at 80 Hz and roll-off high energy low end at 300 Hz. You can use both together to create a more dramatic effect. In addition, some optional enhancements have been added to make the most of your DAW: EQ bypass, automatic gain control, phase inversion, and stereo link. Now, thanks to the V76-Pre, you can add the iconic tone and enjoy those sounds from that golden age of the recording studio.
