Featuring NVMe technology, this drive supports up to 3500 and 2700 MB/s read and write speeds respectively, to bring you faster boot and load times. Moreover, it comes with Samsung Magician, a drive monitoring and management software, and is backed by a five-year warranty.

Next-Gen Performance

    Samsung 970 Pro reviews

1TB 970 PRO NVMe M.2 Internal SSD is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great SSD! This is simply the best drive I’ve ever purchased! I can hardly believe the speeds as it even exceeds the rated speeds according to both Samsung Magician and Crystal DiskMark. Super simple installation using Samsung’s data migration software, and the drive endurance rating is wow! No way I could ever come close to wearing this thing out. Samsung makes the best and fastest drives hands down!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fastest NVMe m.2 SSD Ever! Was very pleased with my Samsung 950 Pro that I purchased a few years ago, so I decided to upgrade to the 970. It's extremely fast, and I'm getting slightly better than the advertised speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast At first I thought it was DOA - I plugged it into 2 different motherboard slots and even an M.2 PCI card. Nothing new showed up in device manager, not even an unknown device without drivers. My 960 pros were still listed (samsung driver 2.3). I started the RMA process when I had the bright idea to try the latest samsung 3.0 drivers. BAM they were there. Usually when drivers are not installed I at least get an error for unknown device? Anyway, it is great. 3417 read / 2734 write in CrystalDiskMark. 3348 read / 2027 write for my old 960 pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SSD 970 PRO NVMe M.2 1TB I see that the EVO version has the 2gb capacity. When will the 2gb for the PRO come out? I apologize this is not a review but more of a question nevertheless I have no doubt this is a great product as I have owned 3 Samsung SSDs (2 of them NVMEs). Samsung is indeed a leader in this space.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Random read/write I never got above 400,000 IOPS (disappointed) for 970 Pro 1T. The seq. read/write for both 970 pro and 960 pro and the random read/write for 960 Pro are closely within the specs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, fast, and fast Out of the box it was so much smaller than I expected. Like the size of a flash drive. Setup was a little difficult. I had to find the screw that came with my MOBO. Luckily I was able to. Then getting it screwed in took some patience. Once it was installed, cloning with the migration software was super simple. Restarted and changed my boot order, and I was up and running. First thing I did to test was load up PUBG. My load times went from 30s-1m down to less than 5s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speed as advertised Refreshing to see a storage technology that can be used as an external device and still get the advertised speed. I put this in a Thunderbolt 3 to NVME external housing (netstore) and it is blazing fast. I dropped a 6GB file onto it in just under 3 seconds. Copied it back in less than 2 (I still haven't checked into whether the mac has single instance capability and knows that the file is already on the drive and therefore doesn't really copy it back?). This is the best thing ever if you're dealing with huge VM files.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DOA I'll wait for my replacement and rate again, but my first one (shipped 5/18/2018 from B&H) was dead. Never got a bad 960 pro and I think I had like 6 of them.
